BondBeyond: taking dads and their sons into the beyond for simple day/night activities to facilitate father-son bonding in a natural environment away from the busy city lives we all tend to lead. This venture highlights my beliefs in man's soul needing exposure to nature as a part of its core development, not just for the physical advantages of accomplishing the feat, nor for the mental satisfacti
on of accomplishing goals set, but to develop the spirit at its core, and to receive its healing from the stresses and demands of modern living at a deep level, renewing the person to become a human being that can contribute wholly to the world. Today, Dads lead highly pressurized lives where they have little time every day to foster their growing son’s emotional needs. BondBeyond takes a dad and son out of their normal environment, away from daily distractions, modern media pollution, and other siblings, and puts them in nature together, where they will be involved in out-of-the-norm activities that effortlessly encourage, enhance, develop and strengthen the fundamental bonds of trust, companionship, partnership, protection, and fellowship that a boy needs to form his character. While all these things are paramount in the development of young men, the very simple aspect of a dad just "being" with his son, and being 100 percent present, (no cellphone, siblings, spouses, tv, radio...) is a rarity, but in natural environments this is so easy to achieve. · We believe that nature is a fundamental need of the soul. Too few people get to benefit from its wonders. By focussing on bonding time in nature, everything slots into place as it should be. The simple concept of listening. Truly listening and hearing: one another, one’s self, and to nature. And solitude. Truly being alone and at one with oneself and nature; in silence, and being comfortable with it. I am currently a skills development facilitator and enjoy teaching and guiding my learners but I have been seeking the type of work that brings me closer to my passions involving outdoor and adventure, that offers new challenges, and the BondBeyond concept is ideal in that it combines so much of what I do for work and at leisure into a new and fulfilling career path.
