RAUFFFF comes to KwaZulu-Natal in August - two screenings, one festival
The Mission Fly Fishing Magazine's inaugural Raw African Unfiltered Fly Fishing Film Festival (RAUFFFF) arrives in KwaZulu-Natal this August with two screenings: Durban on the 18th and Hilton on the 19th.
RAUFFFF is Africa's first fly fishing film festival - seven cities, seven screenings, one national celebration of the sport. The films are visceral, funny and deeply human. Stories from African rivers, estuaries and flats, made by filmmakers who fish the same waters your members do. The lineup features South African filmmakers like Flybru (Nick van Rensburg and Matt Gorlei), Johann Vorster, Si Kay and Ryan Janssens, alongside international headliner Rolf Nylinder from Sweden and many others. Films covering tigerfish, yellowfish, trout, leervis, tarpon and more - on the big screen, in a room full of people who love this sport as much as you do.
Doors open at 5:30pm for drinks and mingling. Durban and Hilton will have casting demonstrations with Xplorer before the screening. Films start at 7:00pm. Prize giving at close.
Prizes include a week for one at Alphonse Island in the Seychelles (value R250,000), a four-night stay for two at Ichingo Chobe River Lodge on the Zambezi, and guided trips to the Eastern Cape, Garden Route and elsewhere. Tickets are R330 per person and include entry into the prize draw.
It's the perfect excuse for a night out, to reconnect with mates before the rivers open. We'd love to see a strong KZN contingent at both venues.
