Warriors Dojo

Warriors Dojo Warriors are affiliated to Karate South Africa and the various bodies affiliated under the banner of Karate South Africa. Well done to our up and coming champs.

We opened in the beginning of 2022 and we growing in leaps and bounds. We are a family orientated Dojo that teaches kids from 4 years old to Adults. The classes are taught by Sensei Yakeel Maharaj with the assistance of his three daughters. Our classes are held in Northcroft Temple Hall and Skylark Primary on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All four of them have achieved their KZN colors and Sensei Yakeel

and Sanjana have attained their Protea Colors. Sensei Yakeel is also a UFAK (Region South) and Nationally Qualified Referee and Sanjana & Yajna are both regionally qualified Judges. Yajna has also been appointed recently as a Development Coach for KZN. Since inception of the club we have undertaken many successful events. We hosted a Women’s Self Defense Course and recently held a fundraiser driving in commemoration of Cancer Awareness Month; we distributed Gift bags to children suffering from Cancer via the Wood view Cancer Support Group. SKISA hosted a tournament on 24th September at the Phoenix Youth Centre and we proud that 20 of our students participated and we bagged 32 medals in total. We proud of you all. Sensei Sanjana has been selected to represent SA at the UFAK continental championships in December and Sensei Yakeel will write his UFAK Referee examinations, we wish them all the best. Our Dojos are a happy place for our kids, and with the pressures of the current times that we live, our Mental Health is most important. We encourage mindfulness in the Dojo and our students are always treated with care and respect. 💜 We're proud to be part of something special this Women's Month! 💜

We are honoured to be joining other karate clubs from across the Durban Northern Region for a Women's Day Empowerment Event focused on women's safety, practical self-defence, empowerment and community awareness.

This event is open to all women and girls, so whether you train in karate or have never stepped onto a dojo floor before, you're warmly invited to join us.

If you are a member of another karate club that hasn't yet joined the initiative and would like to be involved, please feel free to reach out—we'd love to have you be part of this community event.
