Gamtoos Valley Farm Run A fun event for the whole family.

The Gamtoos Valley Farm Run was established in 2022 and is an event that hosts a 21km, 10km and 5km run through the beautiful town and orchards of Patensie in the Gamtoos Valley in the Eastern Cape.

⚠️ IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:

After much deliberation, our organizers have decided not to stage a 2026 Gamtoos Half Marathon event on the running calendar this year.

🏃🏼‍♀️ This does not mean that another event is not on the cards, but with the already full community calendar, we are placing this event on temporary hold.

🍊 We are going to miss all our runners in beautiful Patensie this spring and wish you all the best for your 2026 running year!

🙏🏼 We would like to extend our warmest thank you to all runners, sponsors and our community, who have supported our vision and event to date.

The main goal of the Gamtoos Half Marathon, is to give back to our community.

With the funds from our 2025 race, we sponsored the following to the Hankey Secondary and Hankey Primary Schools respectively:

🏉 A set of rugby jerseys
🏐 Netball dresses and tights
🧦 Socks
🥤 Water bottles
🏈 Protective cushioning for the school's rugby goal posts

We teamed up with Grown4u - Pty Ltd to make this a reality.

On the photos are Chrisma Rautenbach and Bianca van Niekerk (Gamtoos Half Marathon) and Charlie Wiehahn (Grown4U) with recipients of both Hankey Secondary and Hankey Primary Schools.

A big thank you as well, to all of YOU for participating and supporting the 2025 race and making this sponsorship possible.

The 5km and 10km route offered a fun surprise for our runners in the orchards during the 2025 Gamtoos Valley Farm Run.

🥳 We would like to say a big thank you to the water point managed by for creating this fun stop!

💥 There was a "straight through" for our serious runners and a colourful course for our younger participants to cross.

Here they could meet the characters from Paw Patrol, who waited and they were super excited to meet our runners and have their photos taken!

It's photo week!

We've gathered and are excited to share them with you this week.

🥳 A big thank you goes out to the staff of our host school, Laerskool Gamtoosvallei for setting up and manning the kids' entertainment for us during the Gamtoos Valley Farm Run on 6 September.

🍿 They provided a safe spot for children to be entertained, while parents competed in the race. Some yummy popcorn and cooldrink were included as well as educational toys and face painting.

From the photos we can see that fun was had by all!

The Gamtoos Valley is blessed with some talented and seasoned athletes and they took part in the Gamtoos Valley Farm Run in a more official capacity.

🚲 We would like to say thank you to Danika Scheepers for riding with our half-marathon leading lady.

🚲 We also thank Arno Nel for riding with our leading man on the half-marathon route.

⚠️ A very special mention and big thank you to Charné Ferreira who's been organizing our marshal team for the last 3 years. We appreciate your efforts!

Thank you to all our riders for being out on the routes with our runners, and keeping us updated on their progress.
