We will be starting training on Saturday, 8 March. Here’s our normal information for the year:
A. Communication
All communication will also be posted via our WhatsApp groups/broadcasts, Facebook (www.facebook.com/AvengersFcOverport) and Instagram (www.instagram.com/avengers_fc_overport) pages. Please send me a message via WhatsApp to be included into the group.
B. Registration
Registration is open for 2020. Please update the attached indemnity form and return via e-mail or hand in at the 1st training session. The registration fee is R150 per child (no extra charge for siblings).
C. Timings
Venue will be Berea Park for March. We will return to Tills Crescent bottom grounds from 5 April. Timing will be, Saturday mornings, 09h15 to 10h45.
If you are going to be late to fetch your child please contact one of the coaches and inform us, so that, between us, we will arrange for someone to wait with the child.
Below is a table showing the week’s where there will be no training:
D. Fees
1. If anyone cannot afford the fees then we will exempt you from fees (or offer you reduced fees – whichever you prefer). The only request is that you inform us when signing up.
2. There will be a R150 registration fee per family.
3. Payments will be split into 2:
a. Half 1 (due by end March) – R900.
b. Half 2 (due by end July) – R650.
4. So that is a total of R1,550 + R150 registration = R1,700 for a maximum of 20 sessions.
5. These numbers already exclude Ramadan, Eids and long weekends. We will be training through the school holidays this year.
6. As per 2019 we will be offering a discount: if you pay your fees, for the year, upfront and before 15 March 2020, it will cost you R1500 (fees and registration inclusive) for the full year.

8. The sibling discount: First child pays full price but any siblings (i.e. 2nd or more) will get a R200 discount (up front if paying for the full year or in the 2nd half if paying by half).
E. Volunteers
As per last season volunteers (coaches and managers) will be eligible for a discount as follows:
1. Commitment to > 80% attendance = 100% discount.
2. Commitment to > 60% attendance = 50% discount.
F. Weather Dependency
All our training sessions are weather dependent. In the event of poor weather or waterlogged grounds, training will be cancelled. Confirmation of cancellation will be made via WhatsApp, Instagram & Facebook at least 1 hour before training starts, latest (please do not start querying before).
G. League Participation
Teams will only be entered in divisions where we have enough numbers registered before mid-March. Selection will be based solely on merit for all divisions. New kids may be eased into the teams (initially, this can be as little as 5 minutes in a match since it takes a while for kids to get used to league football).
Divisions classed as per below for 2020:
We will most likely have U8 and U9 teams. The other divisions – U6, U7, U10, U11 and U12 will depend on the number of sign ups we have. Training will still be offered for ALL divisions from U6 to U12.
