What a weekend for the team!!
The final race for 2025 calendar for the lads and they were determined to make sure it counted. This past Sunday we took part in the Build It Cycle Tour in Oudtshoorn, a race that has become one of the teams favourites over the past few years.
The race started off aggressively as usual as riders fought for the breakaway. Many moves went away but nothing stuck. As the race started to go slightly more uphill a decisive split happened placing and in the front.
The 2 of them really drove the breakaway causing the gap to substantially grow to nearly 6 minutes, at this point we knew the winner would come from this reduced group. The lads rode incredibly well to make sure the group stuck together for a sprint. In the end we had to settle for 🥈 place as was edged out of the win by the narrowest margin. We also had finishing in 4th place, a superb performance from the guys.
Later on the attention was turned to the famous street mile - an absolute crowd favourite. The chaps went in with a plan and it did not disappoint. From the first meter we had setting a very high tempo, making it hard for anyway to go off the front. made sure to cover any moves that came to make sure nobody got away. Finally it was the job of our fast boys, Brad dropping off and with around 200m to go and there was no stopping them. They ended up taking 1st and 2nd respectively in a very convincing fashion.
All round a fantastic weekend away for the lads and a huge motivational booster for next season. It’s now time for some well deserved rest and recovery, before the preparations begin for a massive 2026.
