Good Morning, Buccaneers!
It is an absolute honor to stand before you today at this historic moment—the official launch of the Orlando a Pirates Greater kuruman branch. First and foremost, let me express my sincere gratitude to the leadership of this branch for inviting me to be part of this special occasion. I would also like to acknowledge my former teammate and a true legend of the game, Edward "Magents" Motale, for gracing us with his presence.
To all the football lovers, members of the Pirates family, and distinguished guests—thank you for your dedication to the beautiful game!
The Power of the 12th Man – The Role of Supporters.
Football is nothing without its supporters. No matter how talented a team is, it is the passion, energy, and unwavering belief of the supporters that make the difference. I have experienced this firsthand during my playing days—when the fans are behind you, you feel unstoppable!
This branch is not just about being a fan club; it is about uniting as a community under the badge of Orlando Pirates Football Club. It is about keeping the Buccaneer spirit alive, creating a strong base for football development, and ensuring that our club continues to dominate South African football.
The Legacy of Orlando Pirates
Orlando Pirates is more than just a football team—it is an institution. It represents history, struggle, triumph, and resilience. We all know that Pirates has been at the forefront of South African football for decades, producing world-class players and winning major trophies both locally and on the continent.
I am proud to have been part of the football fraternity that shaped me into the person I am today. Pirates has given opportunities to many, and through this branch, you, too, are playing a vital role in keeping that legacy alive.
The Rise of Football in the Northern Cape.
Kuruman, and the Northern Cape as a whole, is filled with raw talent waiting to be discovered. I know this because I come from here. However, we must invest in our young players and ensure they have the resources and opportunities to succeed.
Through my work with the Lebo Mothibantwa High Performance Soccer Academy, I have seen firsthand how football can change lives. This branch can be a vehicle for growth—not just as supporters of Pirates, but as nurturers of talent right here in our hometown.
Imagine the day when a young boy from Kuruman makes it into the Pirates first team, wearing the famous black and white jersey. It is possible, but it starts with us! We need to support local football, mentor young players, and demand better football infrastructure in our province.
The Unity of South African Football
While our hearts belong to Orlando Pirates, we must also recognize that the growth of South African football as a whole is important. The rivalry between Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, and Mamelodi Sundowns makes football exciting, but at the end of the day, we all want to see *Bafana Bafana* return to the top of African football.
Our mission, as supporters, should not only be about celebrating victories but also about building a football culture that inspires *the next generation of South African stars*.

Today, as we celebrate this launch, let us commit to making this branch one of the most active and influential in the country. Let us show the world that Kuruman is a powerhouse of football passion.
To the leadership of this branch—keep pushing forward. To the members—remain dedicated and involved. To our young boys and girls—dream big, work hard, and one day, you will wear that Pirates jersey with pride.
