Adventures with Baobab Adventures with Baobab operates an off-road trail within the 1600 hectare Cradle Moon Conservancy – a bush experience just outside of the city.

Go on an adventure with Baobab where our trained driving instructors equip you with skills to enjoy the journey and where your destination will always be beautiful. We offer a secure and pristine natural experience for both young and old or those just seeking a breath of fresh air. We were blessed this morning with the most beautiful scenery over parts of Gauteng with sunlight shyly peeking through misty landscapes.

Limited visibility is one of the most dangerous driving conditions a driver can face, and this includes mist and fog. Here's a few tips for your driving style during these misty mornings:

✔️ Slow down your speed and make sure you are seen by turing on your headlights and foglights

✔️ Keep your distance to give yourself enough time to react in an emergency or if traffic suddenly slows

✔️ Keep your windows clear by making sure your windscreen wipers are in good condition and use your aircon or heater to demist windows

✔️ Delay your journey if these driving conditions make you nervous, and once the weather has cleared you can sing again to your favourite tune

It was amazing working with the team from the Leopard Rescue Unit – a non-profit Conservation Project started in 2000 focusing on the protection of leopards to protect leopards from poaching, poisoning, trapping and over-hunting. Their area of operation covers a study area of approximately 100 000 km² with all types of working conditions so you can imagine how off-roading knowledge can be beneficial to this team

Let’s talk about Mike for a minute….. One of the obstacles found on our off-road trail is cryptically named “Mike’s Chilly Hill” and we're sure many have navigated this obstacle and wondered where on earth the name comes from?

Well, Mike is one of the many faces you’ll get to meet and was involved with the building of our off-road trail. And not once but on THREE occasions has managed to get himself stuck on the top of this hill (and others) – we thought that “Mike’s Chill Hill” was a little too laid back so spicing things up, “Mike’s Chilly Hill” came to be.
