Today we pause together, with heavy hearts, to honour and remember Daniel Hill — a cherished passed Pirate Nipper, a friend, a teammate, and a young soul who made a lasting mark on all of us.

Daniel was more than just a nipper in white and black. He was part of the fabric of the Pirates family. From early mornings on the sand to salty smiles after a long session in the water, Daniel showed us what it meant to belong. He carried the Pirate spirit with pride — courage in the waves, kindness among his friends, and a quiet strength that many of us will never forget.

To his parents, Uta and Clinton Hill, there are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing a child. Please know that your son was deeply loved, not only by you, but by an entire community who watched him grow, laugh, learn, and shine. You raised a young man whose presence mattered, whose kindness was felt, and whose memory will live on in every ripple of the ocean and every footprint left on the sand.

What made Daniel truly special was not just his ability as a nipper and swimmer, but his heart. He had a way of being there — whether through a smile, encouragement, or simply standing beside a friend when it mattered most. He reminded us all that it’s not how long we stand on the beach, but how deeply we touch the lives around us.

Every time the ocean is calm at sunrise, every time the waves break just right, and every time a young nipper pulls on their cap with nervous excitement, a part of Daniel will be there. He is now forever part of the water he loved — a guiding presence, a quiet strength, a Pirate for eternity.

Daniel Hill will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. His name will live on in our stories, his spirit in our club, and his memory in our hearts.

Rest easy, Daniel.
Once a Pirate, always a Pirate. 🌊❤️
