Mitchells Plain Chess Club The Mitchell's Plain Chess Club, meets every Saturday from 9am -12pm at the Lentegeur Library. All are welcome whether young or old, male or female.

We pride ourselves as being the oldest and leading chess club in Mitchell’s Plain. We meet every Saturday from 09h00 to 12h00 at the Lentegeur Library situated in Merrydale Road in Lentegeur, Mitchell’s Plain. If you always wanted to know how to play chess here’s your chance. After all it is the grey matter that counts! We cater for every player’s strength, from beginner, intermediate even grand m

asters are welcome! Just ask GM Kenny Solomon, who hails from our club. We are recruiting members and are hoping to get them battle hardened for the 2015 Western Province Chess League season. We are hoping to increase our number of teams playing in the league this year, so why not join us. We also play regularly in rated tournaments. We thank the Rockland's Library, Town Centre Library and Lentegeur Library for allowing us to present their Holiday Chess program. It was quite successful and thank you Town Centre Library for hosting, your staff and everybody that played a role were fantastic. Thank you to the parents who accompanied their children and all the players that participated.
