RESCUE REPORT: On Monday 8th January Big Bay Surf Lifesaving Club Lifeguard Jordan Roman (pictured) and Cameron Watson (Milnerton Surf Lifesaving Club) were working on pro-duty for the City of Cape Town and stationed at Blouberg beachfront.

A member of the public approached Jordan and Cameron, informing them of a patient who had been pulled out of the water about 200m further down the beach.

They immediately responded to the elderly unconscious male who was showing no vital signs and not breathing. CPR was immediately administered and a call for oxygen and assistance was radioed in to the Big Bay Lifesaving tower.

Within minutes, CPR compressions were administered and the patient came to, his pulse returned and his breathing was stabilised. The patient was kept warm and oxygen was administered to him while they waited for ambulance services to arrive within minutes.

Well done to Jordan and Cameron for their swift action when seconds count, which resulted in another life saved!
