**Event Report #122 - 17 January 2026**
Last weekend, we had some visitors from the UK, who not only sped through our event but also had some lovely feedback to share about our parkun which we are sharing below.
Thank you Sarah and Adrian and Lavender Mill hopes to see you again! 🌳

We are visiting from the UK, staying at Dullstroom on the Dam for a month. The Dullstroom parkrun is closed at the moment, whilst a new course is prepared, which means we had an opportunity to explore further afield and visit the wonderful Lavender Mill parkrun.
The instructions to reach it are perfect, along with good parking facilities and toilets. We immediately received a very warm welcome and enjoyed chatting with lots of folk. The briefing was clear & sprinkled with humour. It highlighted a participant who will be celebrating their 89th birthday tomorrow and another on reaching their 10th run - congratulations to both!
The course is beautiful & despite the recent “British style” wet weather (sorry!) it was still good underfoot. The route is easy to follow, winding across fields and through woodland.
The finish line team were very efficient and finishers tokens were scanned quickly. The “first finisher chair” is a lovely touch and Adrian enjoyed sitting on it!
Afterwards there is a lovely cafe with plenty of seating inside & out, to enjoy breakfast and drinks. The younger ones can burn off more energy in the play area.
Thank you to everyone at Lavender Mill parkrun!
