THE LINE OF THE BALL
The most recurrent foul in polo is ‘crossing the line’.
The line of the ball is an imaginary line along which the ball travels from A to B as illustrated on the second slide.
This imaginary line represents the right of way for the player that is following closest to the line.
There are strict rules set in place governing an opponents’ entry into the right of way in the interest of safety.
‘YOUR LINE’
This term is often heard on the field from players to indicate that a player has the principle right of way to the ball over an opponent.
