ALERT 🚨⛳️
If ever there was a time to have an ace, Keith Turton did just that! Holing out on the 16th during his first round of the Club Championship. Congratulations Keith! 👏 🎉

"I was having a reasonable round after starting on the 10th."

“We got to the 16th and wasn’t quite sure what club to hit. I was considering either a 6 or 7-iron and went with the 7 for the middle pin. I could not have struck it better. It was probably one of the best 7-irons I've ever hit.” 🎯

"My ball pitched just short of the green and right of the bunker. It ran up and I watched it disappear into the hole, together my Senior division playing partners Martin Windt, Ponki Holani and Burger Kloppers."

"It was such a nice feeling. It’s only my third ace, so hopefully there are a few more left in this old tank of mine.”

Congratulations Keith and your amazing achievement, especially during Club Championships. Now that’s one for the history books!

Weekend one is in the bank. ⛳🏆
Seven divisions, two days of championship golf and all four seasons for our players ~ even a little lightning on Sunday afternoon! ⚡ A Club Championship first.

We’ve reached the halfway mark of Club Championship 2026, presented by Pam Golding Properties – Western Seaboard, and the leaderboards are taking shape.

There’s still plenty of golf to be played and everything to play for when we return for the final weekend this Saturday and Sunday (19 & 20 September). It's also a celebration of Atlantic Beach's birthday month, with a family experience for those on and off the fairways - kids activities, music, live music, championship camaraderie and the celebratory prize-giving where the champions will be crowned.

The Cape wine country, right on our doorstep. 🍷

This September, eleven remarkable cellars will leave their vineyards behind for an afternoon and head to Atlantic Beach to join in celebrating our birthday at our Community Market & Wine Fair.

From Stellenbosch and Franschhoek to Durbanville and beyond, Hartenberg, Neethlingshof, De Grendel, Kloovenburg, KWV, Nitida, Lomond, Villiera, Hill&Dale, Mont Rochelle, and Ayama will all be pouring here at home.

Market stalls to wander, little ones kept happily busy, and live music at both Milkwood Deli and Sunbird Restaurant are all part of the afternoon for the residents and members who call this home.

It’s not every day that these cellars come to you.

But then again, at Atlantic Beach, experiences like these are part of the lifestyle.

Our Atlantic Beach Links Club Championship 2026, presented by Pam Golding Properties – Western Seaboard, is officially underway! ⛳️🎉

As part of our Atlantic Beach birthday celebrations, Club Championship brings another wonderful reason for our community to come together - and this year, we have a record entry across seven divisions.

Today saw the Men’s A, B and C divisions and Ladies Silver get their Championship started.

Rain is always a blessing, and today’s showers couldn’t dampen the spirit. There was plenty of camaraderie,19th-hole recaps and of course great golf. Everything that makes Club Championship one of the highlights of our golfing calendar.

It wasn’t only about the golf. Off the course, our younger supporters joined in the Championship fun with face painting and balloon art, making it a day for the whole family.

Tomorrow, we go again.⛳️ The Seniors, Ladies Bronze and Copper Divisions join the action, while the Men’s A and B and Ladies Silver head into Round 2.

When Rick Farrant teed off on 16, he did not expect to have his first hole-in-one. Congratulations Rick on a brilliant achievement. ⛳️🎯🎉

“I teed off after Sheldon Vermeulen, Zandre Oberholster and Kieron Kent for the middle-right pin. I had not hit my 9-iron too well, but I thought keep your head down, and hit through it."

"I saw my ball bounce twice and then it disappeared. One of the guys said did it go in? I was not sure."

"Ive been playing golf since I was 15, and thought that I was going to be one of those guys that will never have a hole-in-one!”

"We also came back early from our holiday for the Club Championship this weekend and I was not sure how I would play. What a welcome back!"

Teamwork and focus. Rene van der Merwe, Elmarie Horn, Lisa Pappin and Pam Welz topped the leaderboard on 72 pts in the Alliance ~ 2 scores to count on Par 3s, 1 on par 4s and 3 on Par 5s. Well played ladies 👏

Rick Farrant received the biggest cheer after his very first career hole-in-one on the 16th. Congratulations Rick and welcome to the club. Stay tuned for more from Rick's ace ⛳️🎯

Runner-up place went to Glen Hatt, Lucas de Swart, Luke Pillay & Nigel Pillay on 69 pts.
