Come and join us to celebrate and support the Race Against Cancer on the 21 June 2026 at Orlando Rugby Ground opposite Orlando police station, the start of the race is 07h:00am for 21km and 10km, 5km will start at 07h15

After consultation with JMPD and City of Johannesburg JOC, the event date has to changed to Sunday, 21 June 2026. This decision was made to ensure the safety of all runners, JMPD officers, SAPS, volunteers, and the Soweto community.

Reason for the change:
JMPD advised that Saturday road closures in Soweto have Funeral processions traveling to various cemeteries and taxi routes create major conflicts with Saturday events. Moving the event to Sunday eliminates this risk.

Excited for the Race against Cancer with Discovery Vitality? 🤩 So are we! 🏃🏿‍♀️ The first race in the iconic Vitality Run Series in Joburg is just a few more hours away. So, we’ve put together a guide to help you get ready for race day

🚕 We strongly encourage you to Uber on Sunday. Sit back, relax, and get your mind in the game while your driver gets you there.

🅿️ Parking closes at 05:45 sharp. (Read the guide for designated parking spots.) Get there early and join us for a aerobics warmup before the race.

⏰ The 21.1 km and 10 km races start at 07:00, with the 5 km following at 07:15.

📍 This year’s route starts on Rathebe Street and Hlatshwayo street, opposite the Jomo Sonos house, and ends at Orlando Rugby Ground.

👟 Remember to bring your pre-loved running shoes to donate to , in collaboration with the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture. You can’t miss our pink donation box 🎁
