Bujinkan Dojo Africa

Bujinkan Dojo Africa The practice of Japanese warrior traditions. WELCOME TO THE DOJO! THE ART WE PRACTICE IS BUJINKAN BUDO TAIJUTSU “THE BODY METHOD FOR THE WARRIOR WAY”.

The practice forms are born from the ancient battlefields of Japan and incorporate the disciplines of striking, grappling and weapons as tools for survival. It is the timeless relevance of these traditional patterns that develop the structure, skills and principles needed to address and navigate violence today. The Warrior goal past and present, is the healthy cultivation of a strong flexible body

and balanced mind. Practice assists people to connect to nature and ground themselves in the moment. Warm Regards,

Akemash*te omedetō gozaimasu 2022!

Happy New Year!

2022 The Year of The Water Tiger (starts either 1st or 15th February 2022), aims to be notable on a few levels.

It is the 45th anniversary since I started Martial Arts, the 30th Birthday anniversary since I opened my Dojo.

The Bujinkan was formed in 1970 to transmit the 9 traditions Hatsumi Sensei inherited from Takamatsu Sensei. That means it’s the 52nd anniversary of The Bujinkan.

Hatsumi Sensei is also 90 years old and it is the 50th anniversary of Takamatsu Sensei death.

In honor of all this and more, we will be exploring Koshijutsu/Koppojutsu of Gyokko Ryu (Jade Tiger) and Koto Ryu (Knock Down Tiger).

We will work our way through 1 kata per Master Class, thats 4 per month and see how many examples of the various levels we can explore.

Please bring a notebook, brush, paper and ink as we will practice Shodo during lunch.

I look forward to a memorial 2022 with you all.

Kind Regards,

Jason 🙇🏻‍♂️

“....Knowing that disease and disaster are a natural part of life, the key to overcoming adversity is with a calm and happy spirit. Happiness is waiting there in front of you. Only you can decide whether or not you choose to experience it, take this to heart!”
