What an incredible day of youth rugby!
Our LRA Rugby Day was a massive success, and we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to every parent, player, coach, sponsor, referee, volunteer, vendor and supporter who helped make the day possible.
To our players — well done! The results were mixed, but that is absolutely okay. Youth rugby is about so much more than just the scoreboard. It is about development, opportunity, teamwork, friendships and giving every child the chance to play the game we love. We are incredibly proud of the way our boys represented their teams and clubs.
To all our coaches and team managers, thank you for the countless hours you put into these young players. Your commitment, patience and passion for developing youth rugby are what make days like this possible.
To our parents, thank you for getting the children to practices and games, standing next to the fields, supporting the teams and continuing to believe in what we are building. Without our rugby families, there is no youth rugby.
A very special thank you to VR Cargo, our Sponsor of the Day. Your support played a massive role in making this event possible, and we sincerely appreciate your investment in our young players and the future of youth rugby.
A huge thank you must also go to Laerskool Nelspruit and Hoërskool Nelspruit for allowing us to make use of your amazing facilities. Having access to such fantastic fields and facilities allowed us to host a quality rugby day across three fields. We are extremely grateful for your support and for helping us create a special experience for our players, parents and visiting clubs.
A special word of appreciation to all our referees who helped make the day such a success. With games running across three fields and in some seriously hot conditions, you kept going and ensured that our players could enjoy safe, fair and competitive rugby. Standing out there game after game in that heat was no small task, and your commitment and professionalism did not go unnoticed. Thank you! 👏🏉
Thank you as well to everyone who worked behind the scenes — from the gate officials and field assistants to the tuck shops, food stalls, vendors and volunteers. Events like this simply cannot happen without people willing to give their time and effort.
And finally, thank you to Kwaggas, Witbank, Ermelo Arende and Sportreach for joining us. Rugby days are only successful when clubs are willing to come together, compete hard on the field and build friendships and relationships off it.
We had 19 games across three fields, hundreds of players and supporters, and most importantly, a day filled with rugby, laughter and great memories.
The scores will eventually be forgotten, but the memories, friendships and love for the game are what these boys will carry with them.
