Still thinking about this one.

Ten days ago they were strangers. Different countries, different backgrounds, different riding abilities.

By the end, they were cantering into sunsets together, laughing around the fire, playing polo, herding cattle, riding alongside giraffe, and making memories that none of us will forget anytime soon.

It’s always the people that make these trips special.

The horses, wildlife, mountains, and incredible food are part of the experience, but it’s the friendships, stories, and shared adventures that stay with you long after everyone has gone home.

We’re already missing this group.

10 days. Countless memories.

It’s impossible to fit everything we did into one carousel, but here are a few highlights from an unforgettable journey.

Day 1: Meeting the horses for the first time and finding the perfect match for each rider.

Day 2: Getting unbelievably close to giraffe and experiencing African wildlife from horseback.

Day 3: Visiting and feeding the foals.

Day 4: A cold and rainy day that ended with a beautiful sunset game drive and more giraffe sightings.

Day 5: Lunch in the bush around a fire, surrounded by incredible scenery.

Day 6: Learning the basics of polo and discovering a completely new side of riding.

Day 7: Another spectacular bush lunch and a full day of adventure.

Day 8: Polo day — putting everything learned into practice on the field.

Day 9: Herding cattle across the farm like true cowboys and cowgirls.

Day 10: Finishing it all with one last sunset ride before saying goodbye.

From horseback riding and wildlife encounters to polo, cattle herding, incredible food, new friendships, and African sunsets, every day brought something different.

And somehow, it all went by far too quickly.

Thank you to each and every one of you who joined us over the past 10 days. .e
And a special thanks to and the team here at .devilliers.31 .comelninoaka and everyone involved for putting all the effort in to making this possible.

It was an incredible experience to share with such a great group of people, and the memories and friendships we made will last a lifetime.

Bringing together 12 people from completely different backgrounds, countries, and riding levels and throwing them into an adventure like this is never easy, but we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better group. Although we wish Becks, India, Malaika, Jodie, and Ciara could have stayed until the very end with everyone else, we made the most of every moment we had together.

Over the course of the trip, the group didn’t just experience the horses and wildlife. They enjoyed incredible meals in some truly spectacular locations, learned new skills like polo and cattle herding, and improved their riding tremendously — with some progressing from complete beginners to confidently cantering into African sunsets.

We celebrated each guest with their own awards night, and the fancy dress party will definitely go down as one of the highlights of the trip.

Not every day was sunshine and rainbows. The weather kept us on our toes at times, but that’s part of the adventure. We adapted, explored local towns, visited some of the area’s best restaurants, and shared great pizza on cold winter days before the sun eventually returned and the group found themselves riding beneath beautiful African skies once again.

Most importantly, we laughed, learned, rode, explored, and created memories that none of us will forget anytime soon.

So thank you all for trusting us with your adventure and coming to experience what Sparta Horseback Safari is all about. We hope this won’t be the last time our paths cross.

Close encounters like this never get old.

No matter how many times we ride out, seeing giraffe, zebra, sable, eland, and other African wildlife up close from horseback still feels just as special as the first time.

One of the things that makes this horseback safari in South Africa so unique is the way we experience wildlife. There are no engine noises, no crowded vehicles, and no barriers between you and the landscape. Just horses moving quietly through the African bush, allowing us to become part of the environment rather than simply passing through it.

Over time, both the horses and wildlife have become incredibly comfortable around one another, creating opportunities for wildlife encounters that most people never thought were possible.

These are the moments guests remember long after they leave — the giraffe that walked right past them, the zebra grazing nearby, the feeling of being completely present in a wild place.
