🏆 13TH OVERALL — WE ARE SO PROUD! ⛳

The results are in, and we have something very special to celebrate!

A huge congratulations to Pilani, one of our proud Margate Country Club staff members, on achieving an incredible 13th place overall at the South Coast Caddies Health Golf Challenge at Southbroom Golf Course.

Pilani is such an important part of our team. He looks after our golf carts, assists our members and is always busy making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.

So to see one of our own staff members out on the course, playing the game he loves and finishing 13th overall, makes us incredibly proud.

There is something really special about seeing the people who are part of our everyday club life also enjoying and embracing the game of golf.

On Monday, the South Coast Caddies Health Golf Challenge will be proudly hosted at Southbroom Country Club, and we are incredibly proud to have two of our own representing Margate Country Club — Pilane Danca and Derek Nduvela! ⛳️👏

It has been such a privilege to watch these two fine gentlemen grow in their golfing journey — seeing their confidence develop, their skills improve, and their love for the game grow along the way.

🏌️‍♀️💪 WHEN FITNESS HAS YOUR NAME! 💪🏌️‍♀️

This morning, three absolutely amazing ladies decided they were not going to let the weather get in the way of a good game of golf! 🌧️⛳️

Sandra Weber — our newly elected Ladies’ Captain — Debbie Marks, our Vice Ladies’ Captain, and Wilna Olkers braved the day with their pushcarts and took on a full 18 holes in a competition between our ladies’ section.

Now THAT is commitment! 👏😂

Three strong, determined ladies, pushcarts in hand, and absolutely no excuses. What a wonderful example of spirit, friendship and a true love for the game.

🌧️⛳️ To use Farmer John’s words… things are a little bit moist today at Number 4! 😂

110 millimetres of rain in just two days… and it’s still pouring! 🌧️

We honestly can’t wait to see what Margate is going to look like after all of this. Luckily, Margate Country Club drains incredibly quickly, so let’s see what tomorrow brings.

With all this rain, together with the spring treatment, fertiliser and all the hard work that’s gone into the course, we’re really looking forward to seeing what it all brings.

Mother Nature is certainly doing her part. 🌱💚

Now we just need that sunshine to come out and show us what she’s been cooking up! ☀️⛳️

⛳️💚 WHAT MAKES MARGATE COUNTRY CLUB SO SPECIAL 💚⛳️

This past Tuesday was one of those days that reminds us why Margate Country Club is about so much more than golf.

Our monthly Ladies vs Men was on, and after what feels like a very long wait… the men finally took the win! 🏆😂 Well done, gents!

But the score is only part of the story.

When our ladies and gentlemen get together, the whole club comes alive. There’s laughter, excitement, friendly rivalry, camaraderie and that wonderful determination to do just a little better than last time. 💚

And then there’s Poen Olivier. 👏⛳️

Poen turned 70 this year, plays off a 7 handicap, and this past Tuesday played an incredible level-par round from the white tees.

What an inspiration! It’s a beautiful reminder that getting older doesn’t mean stopping. You can keep learning, improving, challenging yourself and enjoying the game you love.

And what a wonderful example for our younger members — 70 is not the end of the road. There is still so much room for achievement, friendship, purpose, competition and joy. ❤️

Whether the pressure brings out your best game or completely gets the better of you 😂, whether you win or lose, you showed up. You played, supported your fellow members, shared a laugh and became part of something bigger than yourself.

That is community.
That is camaraderie.
That is Margate Country Club. 💚

Well done to our men on the win, well done to our ladies for keeping them on their toes, and a very special congratulations to Poen on an outstanding level-par round! 🏆👏⛳️

⛳️ WHEN MEN vs LADIES GET SERIOUS! 😂

You know it’s serious golf when Men vs Ladies comes out to play! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♀️

Sometimes golf gives you that moment… your ball lands in the water hazard, and you think, “Right, let’s see what I can do!” 😎

Out it comes with a beautiful shot… heading in exactly the right direction…

…and then Murphy’s Law decides to join the game! 🌳😂

Straight into the tree… and right back into the water! 💦

Well, at least we know the men are giving it everything they've got! 😉

What an incredible day at Margate Country Club — rain 🌧️, thunderstorms ⛈️, sunshine ☀️ and plenty of laughs along the way.

And what better way to finish the day than with beautiful sunshine and a little golf drama to put the cherry on top! 🍒

All three MCC sides finished in the Top 10 — and one of our teams brought home an incredible 🥉 3rd place!

After watching you paint Southbroom red yesterday, we knew you were going to show up and perform the way you always do — with your cheer, your laughter, your fighting spirit and your absolute joy for the game. ❤️

You represented Margate with pride, passion and plenty of heart, and we couldn’t be prouder of every single one of you.

There were smiles. There was golf. There was laughter. And most importantly, there was togetherness.

Watching everyone sit together afterwards, chatting, laughing, enjoying prize-giving and simply spending time with one another reminded me once again of what makes this club so special.

It isn't just the golf.

It's the people. ❤️
