Interesting find in my old photos a 6' 3wt 3piece rod from way back . Try to keep away from 3 piece rods these days as I don't like the casting action on light rods caused by he additional ferrule.

I have started with a number of hollow built 4 wt 7 foot rods. I am making them as 2 piece rods with two tips. One tip soft and the other a bit stiffer having added some meat to the last 20" of the tip. One of the rods is for a good fishing friend and the rest I will put away for my grandchildren. Rods to be given to them at 16, when they will be old enough to appreciate the old buggers work.

Lockdown has given me time to relook at my selection of rods hanging in the shop, the ones I have used over the years are starting to look a bit "used". Quick rub down and then a new couple of coats of truoil, redo binding varnish clean handles and we have a new looking rod. My favourite Garrison 206 I have left untouched, showing all the scars of battle, don't disturb good memories.
