*Porterville 2026*

The opening round of the Western Cape Rally Championship kicked off in Porterville. With 19 cars on the start line for the first event of the year it was a very positive atmosphere. The amount of people at the show grounds before the event created a buzz of excitement.

5 4 3 2 1 GO!!!!

And just like that the 2026 season started. The roads were extremely loose on the first stage and the second run you could feel the grip levels increase. With more grip we attacked the stage a lot more aggressively , with it being the power stage and extra points on offer we committed, abit too much. Hitting a series of 3 jumps quite hard with a very daunting elevation change set the stage for the premature end of our event. After a bump unsettling the car the rear went ,Catching it and then the rear just twitched again and we were passengers. A text book “Tankslapper” The car spun into a sandy bank , luckily for us thick sand that stopped the car drastically before moving in the direction of spectators and a tree line. The impact ripped off the rear wheel and that was the end of our day. Luckily nobody was harmed. The car too has minimal damage. So all things considered a bad day rallying still beats a good day at the office.

So the bogey continues at Porterville. Which is extremely disappointing considering the time , investment and preparation that went into this event to get it ready. But that is the nature of the beast we love so much. We will be back for the next one stronger 😎 and congratulations to those did well and bagged a trophy this past weekend. Throughly deserved to finish well on this particular event. At the end of the day it’s all about being a sportsman. You show respect and extend the hand to those who’ve done well even if it wasn’t you on that particular day. So from our team WELL DONE! 👏🏼

You’ll notice we updated the design on the car. The idea behind it was to “celebrate the name” to celebrate family, friends and sponsors who make Joshua Rallying exist. To emphasise that without you we would not be here today getting to enjoy this incredible sport. Fundamentally this team has been run by family and friends who have wholeheartedly taken on this dream and help us raise funding to be able to compete.

To the few sponsors we have. They back us fully. THANK YOU !!! You know who you are 🏁🏁🏁 you are all Instrumental in getting us to the start line. If youd like to assist for the upcoming event dotect message us. Any help is good help 🏁🏁🏁

If you haven’t gotten a car to the start line of a rally, you’ll never begin to imagine the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to get there, physically get there. Let alone compete with the best in the Western Cape or South Africa. A lot of sacrifices are made by our loved ones. Especially Time , lots of money, hard work and dedication. Nights in a garage that turn to morning when nobody else is around. That’s the reality of a privateer in motorsport that’s why it’s so rewarding when it goes right and gut wrenching when it goes wrong.

But we wouldn’t have it any other way. We have a passion for motorsport.Being able to put on a show for the youth and fans alike is something we take immense pride in.

The Red Missile will be back, locking our target to the Cape National Rally APRIL 24/25 in the beautiful Swartland area. Two days of epic rallying on some of the best roads in the county. Malmesbury and Riebeek Kasteel. Pencil the date in the rally circus is coming to town.

See you there.

Until next time.

*Riebeek Valley Rally 2025* Race Report.

If you’re from the Western Cape or if you’ve managed to spend some time in the Swartland region, you’ll agree that Riebeek-Kasteel is one of the most beautiful places you’ll come across. The appeal of this special place doubles when the rally circus comes to town.

The smell of racing fuel and the sound of engines screaming while being driven in anger. Is definitely something to behold.

After the last event we had some work to do on the car which translates to long nights in the garage after work. In preparation for this event, Leroy Matthew Petersen P&P Engineering / Now Navigator) rebuilt the engine. After the build,it went straight to the master tuner , Mr Kosie Swanepoel (KSD) and as always, worked his magic and tuned the car to perfection. If you were there to hear it, she was screaming at 8000rpm all day and didn’t skip a beat.

As mentioned in the build up to this event, this was the first proper gravel rally for my navigator. Even those with experience will tell you this job is not for the faint hearted. It’s called the hot seat for a reason. With that being said. With anything new there’s alot of learning that needs to take place. So before the event we were quite realistic about our expectations. Our goal was to secure a finish and get as much seat time in as possible. We treated the rally as practice session and simulation for what’s to come for 2026. but I think we both surprised one another with our ability. All day we didn’t focus on anything else but enjoying the experience without the temptation of getting trapped into the competitive nature we both posses. But rather to have a good time. With jumping the car, sliding around and bouncing off the rev limiter, with some near misses we ended our day with broad smiles on our faces.

Going back and looking at our performance it was incredibly positive. When it went flawlessly our times were of the fastest in the mighty WC3 class and across all the other front wheel driven cars. Which is a massive achievement considering that this journeys in its infancy. With a lot in reserve and some things that we can improve on, the future looks bright. This may prove to be one lethal combination.

The team managed a fine 3rd in class WC3 and 7th Overall out of the 21 cars that started. Another podium position in the bag which makes it that much sweeter considering the amount of work we put into this event.

One again it’s proven that when you are surrounded with people who are unselfish in wanting you progress, you will move forward. We never harp on the negative but making changes to the team was much needed and we seen nothing but a positive change in our fortunes since this formation.

A special mention must be given to Glennwille GLeni Engelbrecht. On the servicing side. Who was a one man show on the event. With the consulting of team boss Michael Joshua He ensured that the car was ready to go out to every stage. It’s a big undertaking. With the We appreciate the effort!!

A massive thank you must be given to OUR TEAM!!!

Which is a combination of the following : Family, Friends , Supporters and Sponsors. Who give up so much and make sacrifices so we can live out this dream. Without them we cannot do this. Without your assistance there is no Joshua Rallying #462

With preparation in full swing. The Joshua Rallying team returns to gravel after sitting out bulk of the season. We are happy to get back out there.

Leroy Matthew Petersen (P&P Engineering) had joined our team 3 years ago as a member of the service crew. Since then he has transitioned to navigation and completed two successful podium postions at All Tar Rally events held 2024/2025 in the hot seat. This is his debut gravel rally and we look forward to the new challenge that awaits. We aim to make this event a stepping stone for future events and we will build the confidence necessary to progress and translate our tarmac results now onto gravel.

New experiences are always exciting and we cannot wait to create new laughs and memories this weekend.

The weather looks beautiful. Come bring your family down to what promises to be a spectacular event.

Joshua Rallying secures back to back podium positions at Killarney’s All Tar Rally. This year we bettered our position, placing second in the highly competitive class WC3. Bringing home silverware after sitting out for the whole season makes it that much sweeter.

Tarmac rallying is extremely intense. It’s challenging and demanding on the car and crews. Pushing yourself each time through buildings and walls that don’t move is definitely one way of getting your heart rate up. It’s extremely enjoyable.

The energy around the track is electric and the atmosphere unmatched. Which makes this event a fan favourite. You would have seen the Army of 462 supporters better known as “The Red Caps” cheering ln support. Thank you for showing up for us. Hands down the most visible and vocal fans around.

A special mention must be made to our service crew. Without you there is no Joshua Rallying. You guys had your hands full all day. But each time you guys got the car back and ready for the next stage. Your effort and commitment to this team is inspiring. On behalf of myself and navigator Leroy Petersen (P&P Engineering) We would like to thank you.

To my sponsors. You guys made this possible. We would not have been on the start line if it wasn’t for your contributions. Welcome to our new sponsors. The Blest Auto Centre and Arrow Tyres for coming on board. We are proud to be partnered with you. We look forward to many more rally events and podiums together.

We are back!

After what’s felt like a lifetime of sitting out for the season.

One year later we are back to compete at the WPMC ALL TAR RALLY which is held at Killarney International Raceway tomorrow (12 July) bring your families along for some intense Tarmac rallying.

This event is characterised by its unforgiving nature. It’s flat out , high pace from the word go! Starting us off with a super special stage. (Yes you read that correctly) Two cars going head to head @ 09:00am tomorrow.

We look forward to getting back out there. A special thank you to our sponsors old and new. For those who have come on board we thank you. For those who have been with us since the beginning of this journey we thank you. Without you and the support of our families we would not be able to put our car on the start line.

And most importantly without our SERVICE CREW there is no team. The gents getting the car prepared well in advance before we arrive at any event. The gents putting in the hard yards to keep the car performing all day long. The real heros. A million Times thank you our TEAM.
