πΏπ¦ Successful weekend for DKR in Louvain!
A strong and encouraging weekend for DaklaPack Rallysport, with both DKR EVOs showing impressive pace and reliability in an extremely demanding race.
For Herman and Mark, it was their very first time racing in South Africa β and also their first event in a T1+, the DKR EVO V8. The race really came to them. Stage by stage, they got to know the car better and adapted quickly to the higher speeds and the intense South African race pace.
Finishing 12th overall in your very first race here is an impressive achievement! π
Dave and Tessa also had a very strong weekend in the DKR EVO GTR. The car ran almost flawlessly, with only some minor fuel-pressure issues and a hole in the windscreen-washer reservoir to deal with. 11th overall was a solid result after a tough weekend of racing.
For Henk and Sasha, the weekend was more frustrating. It started extremely well, as they were leading their class after Day 1. Unfortunately, on Day 2 a stone thrown up inside the wheel arch β without hitting anything β damaged the bodywork and the emergency switch mounted on the fender. Sashaβs door was also ripped off, bringing their strong run to an unfortunate end.
As a team, we are extremely proud that both DKR EVOs completed this brutal event without any significant technical issues.
And there was another special moment for DKR: we had the honour of stepping onto the podium to receive a team award. π
The handling, reliability and pace of both cars were impressive and give us a lot of confidence in the development of the DKR EVO platform.
