Some thoughts I wanted to share… & if you feel like it a link to a wonderful article on the Principles of Pilates… (really worth the read/thank you BASI), (see link below).
Hi all, I thought I’d share some of my thoughts… hope they resonate with you.
In this still strange world we find ourselves (although certainly getting a little lighter with hope igniting for the world) we (Moving Arts Pilates) find ourselves still online. Some have found it fab, some just cannot deal with it. We all have different scenarios that we have to deal with… so we have to make decisions that suit our scenarios. My thought is this…. Don’t give up on your ‘movement’. One instructor said “motion is lotion”…. And it is so VERY true. Remember to move NOW for good movement LATER! So, whilst I will be forever grateful for those that have found themselves able to stay online and still get their value and support me 🙏🏻 … you are on the mat in motion for YOU, for an easier future. So if you can’t find yourself attending class online, make a plan!! Whatever the movement form might be, go find it! (Again, your scenario, find the package that works for you). BUT, ….DON‘T let go of your movement….. You NEED to keep moving!! Whatever you choose, it must give you strength, mobility, flexibility (or all the Pilates principles.. see below).
This scenario will not be for very much longer (of that I’m sure). We WILL have a studio in the New Year! Hang in there….
Be well, be safe, and cherish the moments! (Please read the article if you can).
Pilates Principles: Awareness (Control), Balance, Breathe, Concentration, Efficiency, Precision, Harmony
Messages from the article:
Physical activity can heal
Contrology (Pilates) is a way of life.” He (Joseph Pilates) believed that we have to be mindful of our bodies, our sleep habits and our eating habits.
“Contrology (Pilates) is complete coordination of body, mind and spirit.”
I felt so good, and so at peace that I KNEW I wanted Pilates to be a part of my life until I die. (Words from the instructor who wrote the article).
