Hi my name is Kristy,
I am the owner and swimming instructor at SEA ME SWIM based in Lyttelton Manor, Centurion.
I’ll tell you a little bit more about myself and why/how I started giving swimming lessons. After I finished Matric at Eunice High School in Bloemfontein I started with my PADI Scuba diving courses and ended up doing my PADI Dive Masters in Sodwana Bay, KZN. Where I really fell in love with the ocean! I then started working at Triton dive Lodge in Sodwana and did my PADI scuba diving instructors in Durban.
As I wanted to travel the world I felt like doing my Yachtmasters next was the right step in that direction. So I did my RYA Yachtmasters (Offshore-Sailing) in Cape Town with Ocean Sailing Academy. After that I worked in Zanzibar for a year with water-sports and doing jet ski safari’s with clients to nearby islands, giving scuba diving courses on my off days.
I then did my Swim School International (SSI) Level 1 and 2, adult and baby&me swimming instructors course in Sandton in 2015 and I’ve been giving swimming lessons ever since.
I am a mom of 2 and understand the importance of having your children being water safe, not only that but loving the water!
We moved to Lyttelton Manor as a family and I decided to start my own Swim School so that I can really give personal attention to the kids that I am teaching. That’s why I only take 2 kids per lesson! I want to give individualised attention to every child….Quality over Quantity!
Sea me Swim was inspired by my love for the ocean and water and I hope that every child who learns how to swim here reciprocates that love!
