🌙🔥 NIGHT SERIES 2026 – THAT'S A WRAP! 🔥🌙

After three exciting rounds of bowls under the lights, our 2026 Night Series has officially come to an end!

What a competition it has been! From the first bowl rolled to the final jack, the teams brought plenty of competitive spirit, big shots, laughs and great atmosphere to Louis Trichardt Bowls Club. 🎯

And now, we have our champions!

🏆 Congratulations to our 2026 Night Series Champions:

🥇 Mossels en Tossles – 176 points
🥈 Lekkerwane – 172 points
🥉 Bierspan – 163 points

A massive congratulations to all three teams on an incredible performance! 👏

But this competition was about much more than just the final standings. It was about bringing people together, enjoying the sport and creating some fantastic Thursday night memories.

A huge thank you to every team that entered and made the Night Series such a success. Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship and support helped create something special at our club.

And to everyone who supported from the sidelines, enjoyed a meal, had a drink at the bar or simply came down to enjoy the atmosphere — thank you! 💙❤️

🌙 What a fantastic night at Louis Trichardt Bowls Club! 🌙

On Friday evening, we had the pleasure of hosting the NG Kerk Soutpansberg Bowls Night, and what a night it was!

With 80 players on the greens, the club was filled with bowls, laughter, friendly competition and plenty of good vibes. 💙❤️

It was fantastic to see our greens filled with so many familiar faces, as well as players and supporters coming together for a great cause.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and especially to the NG Kerk Soutpansberg for choosing to spend the evening with us and for putting together such a wonderful event. 👏

Events like these are what make our club special—not only the bowls, but the friendships, community and memories created along the way.

Round 2 is officially in the books, and the battle is getting serious! 🎯

🥇 Bierspan are still sitting on top with 121 points, but with Mossels en Tossles on 118 and Lekkerwane on 117, there is absolutely no room for complacency!

And don't forget about the teams further down the leaderboard — there are still plenty of points up for grabs! 👀

What a fantastic achievement for our Louis Trichardt Bowls Club players! 💙❤️

This weekend, Jaco and Larissa represented our club at the Limpopo Masters, hosted by Polokwane Bowls Club.

🎯 Meet Our Members

This week we get to know Jacoline Fourie, one of our social bowlers who has discovered that sometimes you don't need a big reason to try something new—you just need to give it a go!

🏆 Years at the club: 1–3 years

Jacoline was looking for something different to do when she came across lawn bowls. What started as simply trying something new has become a fun way to spend her Saturday afternoons with the Louis Trichardt Bowls Club family.

What she enjoys most about the club is something we hear again and again from our members—the friendliness of the people. For Jacoline, it's the great people and the welcoming atmosphere that make coming to the club worthwhile.

As one of our social bowlers, Jacoline is there to enjoy the game, have some fun, and spend time with fellow members. And sometimes, that's exactly what bowls is supposed to be about. 😊

💬 Her advice to anyone thinking about trying bowls:

"Gaan doen dit, dis lekker!"

And we couldn't agree more! 😄

You don't have to be competitive. You don't need years of experience. You don't even need to know exactly what you're doing when you arrive. Just come along, meet some people, have a laugh and give it a try.

🎯 Meet Our Members

This week we get to know Janet Swart, one of the smiling faces who reminds us that bowls is just as much about enjoying yourself as it is about the game.

🏆 Years at the club: 2 years
🎳 Favourite position: Lead

Janet's bowls journey began when a friend invited her to give the sport a try. Like so many of our members, one invitation was all it took to discover a wonderful new hobby and a welcoming community.

One of her favourite memories at the club is taking part in our fun fundraising competitions, where the emphasis is on laughter, friendship, and enjoying the game together.

What Janet enjoys most is the wonderful social atmosphere. Whether it's sharing stories before the game, cheering on fellow bowlers, or enjoying a chat afterwards, it's the sense of togetherness that keeps her coming back.

😊 Fun fact: Janet says she doesn't think she's particularly interesting or funny—but we think her enthusiasm, positive attitude, and ever-present smile say otherwise! She may not play in the club competitions, but she is one of the most enthusiastic bowlers on the green during our social afternoons, and her enjoyment of the game is contagious.

💬 Her advice to new players:

"Ek sal enigeen aanmoedig om rolbal te speel. Dit is goed vir die gees én die liggaam."

(I would encourage anyone to give bowls a try. It's good for both the mind and the body.)

Janet is proof that you don't have to be a competitive player to be an important part of a club. Sometimes, the people who simply come to enjoy the game, encourage others, and share a laugh are the ones who help create the welcoming atmosphere that makes a club feel like home.

🎯 Meet Our Members

This week we get to know Kittie De Bruin, one of the longest-serving members of Louis Trichardt Bowls Club and a true ambassador for our club and the sport.

🏆 Years at the club: 23 years
🎳 Favourite positions: Lead and Second

Kittie was introduced to bowls through a friend, and what started as an introduction to a new sport became more than two decades of involvement with Louis Trichardt Bowls Club.

Over the years, Kittie has played an important role in our club, including serving as Club President and being actively involved on the committee for many years. Her dedication, experience, and willingness to contribute have made her an important part of the club's history.

Today, one of the things Kittie enjoys most is the relaxed social side of bowls—good conversations, great company, and perhaps a Flying Fish or two along the way! 🍻😄

For Kittie, bowls is about much more than simply rolling a bowl. It is a chance to relax, connect with people, and enjoy some time away from the pressures of everyday life.

💬 Her advice to new players:

"Die spel is pitkos vir die siel. Uitstekend—kom speel gerus, dit is ontspannend."

(The game is food for the soul. It's excellent—come and play, it is relaxing.)

After 23 years, Kittie is living proof that bowls can become much more than a sport—it can become a lifelong part of your life, friendships, and community. 💙

🏆 Dealership Day 2026 – What a Fantastic Evening!🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for another successful Dealership Day at Louis Trichardt Bowls Club. It was an evening filled with great bowls, friendly competition, laughter, and wonderful camaraderie.

Congratulations to NTT Toyota on successfully defending their Dealership Day title! 🏆👏 A fantastic achievement and well deserved after another excellent performance.

Thank you to all the dealerships, players, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who helped make the evening such a success. Your continued support means a great deal to our club, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back next year for another memorable event.
