Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKF had a Grading on the 28th of February 2026.

Two Karate-Ka attempted the grading and passed with flying colours!

We want to congratulate:

1. Jessica Smit - From White beld to Yellow 1
2. Ruan Roberts - From Yellow 1 to Yellow 2 (8th Kyu).

We are proud to have such Karate-Ka in our Dojo!

Senseis Chris and Miekie Lötter are very proud to announce that Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKF 's Grading was a big success.

11 Karate-Ka did their Grading and passed with flying colours! Congratulations to the following Karate-Ka:

All Karate-Ka passed their beld level and are moving up to one day become Senseis themselves.

We also thank Desmond Sensei the Nihon Shotokan Karate-Do Federation (NSKF) Style Head from Pretoria, who visited Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKF and assisted with training and Grading.

This was Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKF's 4th Awards Ceremony and we praise the Lord that we had, once again, the opportunity to award our Karate-Ka for their hard work done through the year.

2024 was packed with competitions, events, gashuku's and tours, for Karate-Ka to participate in to measure their standards against other students and dojos. These opportunities were used to the fullest and eah Karate-Ka could experience victory and personal growth in the sport and also in their personal life.

Ellisras Cansa Relay

Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKF took part of this wonderful event and enjoyed it a lot. The Dojo did the Fight Back part for Cansa.

The play was all about training the immune system like soldiers. Then there were cancer cells (black dogi) that attacked the human. There was family (support system) that took the human to the Doctor for a diagnosis. Then there were treatment (white dogi) that had to shield the human and help fight back the cancer cells.

Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKF also managed to show the community how training is done at our Dojo.

Thank you to all Karate-Ka, Parents, family and friends who made this day possible.

We also dedicated this day to Chris Sensei's grandson who is a Survivor from Witbank, and to the late Vernon Willer Sensei from East London Karate NSKF.

Well done!!!

A wonderful week spent at Gonubi, East London, 23-27 September 2024. We had the best and most enjoyable training on the Gonubi Beach every morning and at the NSKF East London Dojo in the afternoons.

The Buffalo CityTour, ended with a Tournament om the 28th of September 2024, dedicated to the late Sensei Vernon and we as Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKf, could once again enjoy victory!!!

Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate hosted the second Bosveld Tournament in Lephalale at Srixzone on the 7th of September 2024. It was a remarkable event whereby Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate NSKF competed against Ellisras TSKKIA, Rustenburg MMA and Best Karate Pta.

Medals received by Dojos -
Ellisras Dojo Shotokan Karate 35 medals whereby 51% were Gold, 31% Silver and 17% Bronze;
Ellisras TSKKIA 23 medals whereby 30% where Gold, 39% Silver and 30% Bronze;
Rustenburg MMA 14 medals whereby 28% where Gold, 64% Silver and 14% Bronze;
Best Karate Pta 19 medals whereby 57% were Gold, 31% Silver and 10% Bronze.
