🖐5 tips for better upwind riding 🏄‍♂️

1. Edge Properly
Keep your board’s edge firmly in the water and resist the pull of the kite by leaning back. A strong edge helps you point higher into the wind without losing speed.

2. Kite Position
Keep your kite low — around 45° above the water. A lower kite provides forward pull instead of lifting you upward, helping you maintain better upwind angles.

3. Body Position
Straighten your front leg, bend your back leg, and lean your upper body away from the kite. This stance increases edge pressure and keeps your board tracking upwind.

4. Board and Speed Control
Don’t oversheet or slow down too much. Maintain a steady planing speed — too little power and you’ll drift downwind, too much and you’ll lose edge control.

5. Look and Point Where You Want to Go
Turn your head and shoulders slightly upwind. Your body and board will naturally follow your gaze, improving direction and control.
