A Historic Moment for Football on the West Coast.
The West Coast football community has something truly special to celebrate.
We are incredibly proud to announce that one of our very own young players has signed with Stellenbosch FC — a monumental achievement not only for the player and their family, but for the entire West Coast football community.
This milestone is a powerful reminder of the talent that exists within our small coastal towns and what can be achieved through dedication, hard work, and belief.
This exciting moment has also strengthened the growing relationship between Stellenbosch FC and KFT Soccer School. As part of this partnership, we are delighted to announce that Stellenbosch FC Ladies will be travelling to Saldanha to play two exhibition matches against a KFT / Weskus Skool combined U15 team, on Saturday the 14th of March 2026 at the Weskus Skool for Skills, Main Road, Saldanha.
For our young players and the wider community, this is more than just football matches. It is a celebration of opportunity, development, and partnership. It is not every day that a professional football club visits our West Coast community, and this occasion highlights what is possible when local talent is supported and pathways are created.
These exhibition games will showcase the power of sport to inspire young athletes, build connections, and bring communities together. Our players will have the incredible opportunity to share the field with professional athletes, learn from their experience, and witness first-hand the standards required at the highest level of the game.
A huge thank you must go to the vision of Stellenbosch FC owner, Mr Rob Benadie, the incredible head coach of Stellenbosch FC Ladies , Mr Nathan Peskin, and the entire Stellenbosch FC Ladies coaching staff.
Similarly, a heartfelt thank you to Principal Engelbrecht of the Weskus Skool of Skills, for supporting local youth sport & development by offering unconditionally to host the exhibition matches using the wonderful sporting facilities of the school. Not forgetting Mnr Stefan Fourie for proactively engaging with local agencies and sporting entities to create opportunities for the learners of the school.
This will truly be a special day - celebrating football, youth development, and to celebrate a proud moment for the West Coast.
Together, we continue to build a pathway for our young footballers to dream bigger and reach further.
West Coast football is growing — and this moment is only the beginning.
