In Part 1, I shared about a client who had something important to say but talked herself out of speaking up in the meeting.

Here’s the exact strategy she used to get started.

The shift wasn’t about becoming more confident first.

It was about giving herself permission to take up 30 seconds of space.

If you’ve ever replayed what you could have or should have shared in a meeting, one-on-one (or online), this one is for you.

👉🏽 What gets in the way of you putting yourself out there or sharing your ideas?

I used to think being good at my job was enough.

That eventually, the right people would notice.

But being good at what you do and allowing yourself to be seen are two different things.

And sometimes, staying invisible can look surprisingly productive.

Swipe through, then tell me which one shows up most for you.

What keeps us choosing the familiar, even when we know better?

So often you already know…

→ That the job you’re in isn’t right for you.
→ That you’re capable of so much more.
→ That you’re staying because it’s familiar, not because it’s what you want.

We override ourselves because even though where we are feels massively uncomfortable, it still feels safer than stepping into the unknown.

And that’s often how we stay invisible in our careers.

We make decisions that feel perfectly reasonable, but they’re really just another way to stay with what’s familiar.

✍🏽 Where are you choosing what’s familiar over what you actually want?

For a long time, I told myself I wasn’t hiding.

I was planning.

Learning.

Building.

Waiting until I had a better strategy, more clarity, more confidence, or something worth saying.

But eventually, I had to admit that a lot of what looked like preparation was actually avoidance.

Swipe through for three things I’m doing differently. →

Part 1: Why we struggle to speak up in meetings

Being visible in your career isn’t about showing up perfectly every time you put yourself out there.

It’s about realising that your perspective might be exactly what the room needs to hear.

In Part 2, I’ll share the exact strategy my client used to speak up in meetings and build her confidence.

Video 2 of Becoming Visible in My Career (and Business)

For a long time, whenever I put myself out there and heard crickets, I had a standard routine:

I’d delete the whole thing and start over.

Which felt productive.

Except it wasn’t.

It was just a very convincing way to avoid discomfort.

Silence isn’t proof of failure.

But when we don’t get the instant response we hoped for, we treat it that way.

Visibility isn’t about getting it perfect on the first try.

It’s about sticking around long enough to figure out what works.

If you are tired of restarting your career goals every time you hit a bump in the road, let’s commit to making small adjustments instead of delaying the career (and Business) we actually want.

For the last 8 years, I’ve been telling myself some version of:

“My work will speak for itself.”

Which sounds reasonable.

Except sometimes, it’s just a very convincing way to avoid being seen.

The truth is, I know how important visibility can be.

I coach clients to speak up, communicate with confidence, and stop hiding behind the scenes in their careers.

Meanwhile, in my own business and career, I’ve been doing the opposite.

Not because I don’t know what to do.

But because being visible is uncomfortable.

And for some reason, I keep expecting to get good at it while doing everything but consistently showing my face on camera.

Which, unfortunately, isn’t how getting good at something works.

So this is me changing that.

Welcome to the first episode in my new series. I’m taking you on my journey to become visible in my career and business, while helping you do the same in your career.

If there’s something you’ve been avoiding in your career because you’re not good at it yet? Let me know what it is.

I listened to motivational podcasts for months just to help me get through the day. It still took me years to leave my toxic job.

Now, there was nothing wrong with the podcasts. They truly helped me get into the right headspace to face a day at work.

But just listening to them meant I was taking in all this wisdom, hoping it would change my work situation, while avoiding the one conversation I actually needed, the one with myself.

I finally moved into action when I started talking to the right people about my options. A trusted friend who encouraged me to start my own coaching practice. My husband, who helped me think through all my options. My coaching classmates, who helped me gain clarity during our peer coaching sessions.

See, inspiration alone doesn’t create change. But it might lead you to the people who can help you.

What are you doing right now to get through the tough days at work? Let me know in the comments 👇🏽

I spent years trying to get out of my corporate job and going nowhere.

I thought I was stuck.

Looking back, I wasn’t stuck at all. I was unclear.

The moment I stopped pushing for the obvious next move and paused long enough to ask what I actually wanted, everything changed.

I finally had a sense of direction and clarity about what I wanted.

And a plan I could take action on, instead of making things up as I went.

Thinking about your career journey right now, do you feel stuck, or are you unclear?

Let me know in the comments. 👇🏽

Sometimes we think we’ve made a mistake when really, we just haven’t given ourselves permission to fully commit to the new path.

It’s easy to second-guess yourself when things feel uncertain, but confidence doesn’t come from knowing every step. It comes from deciding to back yourself, even when it’s uncomfortable.

Have you ever felt stuck and uncertain after making a big career move? Let me know.
