Equine Thermal Imaging Thermography is a non- invasive method of picking up inflammation even before the horse shows any ac This often alleviates the secondary symptoms.

If the horse you own or are associated with is experiencing a loss of form, or change of behaviour, an equine thermographer should be the first person you call. Thermography is a non evasive method of highlighting problem areas, sometimes weeks before the horse shows any signs of lameness. As a form of "preventative medicine", thermography can prove invaluable in the fitness training of performanc

e and competition horses. Regular inspections can be used to monitor performance throughout their training schedule. This can identify any undue stress or strain being placed upon the horse which may affect it's performance or cause a potential injury before it becomes physically apparent. It is very often the case that a symptom that shows up as pain in the back for example actually has its root cause somewhere else for instance the foot. The horse will very often compensate for the injury by transferring its weight to the other leg, causing twisting and undue stress along the spine. Traditional methods of diagnosis would be to treat the back, give physiotherapy treatment or rest the horse. By doing a scan of the entire body, areas that are showing abnormalities in temperature can be easily identified and the relevant areas of the horse given suitable treatment.
