What an absolutely fantastic season this young athlete has had... 2 National Gold and a Bronze medal and distances as an u/20 athlete with both the 6kg as well as the 7.25kg that falls in the top 10 in the world this year so far. Add to that 4 qualifying distances to go to the u/20 World Championships in Oregon in the USA (just awaiting approval from ASA). Well done Big Guy, we are very proud of you

ASA SA Championships in Germiston 2026... Charl Marais gets a silver medal for B u/18. He improves his PB by more than 5 metres.. Eben Jacobs defends his SA title and wins gold in the M u/20. Eben has also thrown the qualifying distance 4 times this year so we are hopeful that he will be going to the World Championships in Eugene, Oregon in the USA. Eben also won the silver medal in the African Championships in Nigeria last year

3 New faces at DK Hammer Throw Academy... Zachary Fisher (left) started in December 2025 and threw a PB of 48.36 in only his second official competition last night at UWC. Rio Grispe (middle) started with Zachary and also threw a PB of 45.74. Joachim Peters only started when the school opened this year. He also got a PB of 31.49 at last night's competition. We will be following the progress of these three newbies with great interest.

Eben Jacobs het vandag n nuwe PB gegooi met n gooi van 69.41m vir M 0/20 by n WPA Liga byeenkoms in Parow. Sy vorige beste was die 67.74m wat hy in Nigerië tydens die Afrika Kampioenskap gegooi het om n silwermedalje daar te verower. Met hierdie gooi vandag het hy ook Wêreld Atletiek se kwalifiserende standaard (68m) vir volgende jaar se 0/20 Wêreldkampioenskap gehaal. Dit is egter nog nie seker watter kwalifiserende standaard ASA gaan stel om vir die SA span gekies te word nie, maar Eben gaan beslis baie hard werk nou dat hy weet dit is binne sy bereik.

'n Ongelooflike dag vir DK Hamergooi Akademie by die SASA SA Hoërskole Kampioenskap op die Dal Josafat Stadion in die Paarl. Op 'n dag waar daar n stormsterkte wind gewaai het, het ons 2 medaljes in dieselfde item verower. Eben Jacobs wen goud met 'n afstand van 66.93m en Zachary Roberts kry Brons met n afstand van 61.04 (pb). Eben se wenafstand is net kort van sy persoonlike beste van 67.66 (ook beste afstand nog vanjaar). Boonop het Zak Hickman 4de geeïndig - ook met 'n persoonlike beste van 60.21. Ons is bitter trots op hierdie 3 atlete en hul afstande
