♟️ Krugersdorp Chess Club – Wednesday Adult Club Night Results ♟️

Our very first Wednesday evening event was a great success!

Good games, competitive spirit, plenty of learning moments, and most importantly, a solid turnout. This is exactly the kind of foundation we want to build on as the club continues to grow. 🚀

A massive thank you to everyone who participated, supported and stayed until the final games ended. 😄

📊 Player Stats & Highlights

Robert - Absolutely dominant performance so far. 8 wins from 8 games is serious business. Calm, clinical, and clearly not in the mood for mercy. 😅

John - Strong fighting spirit with 9 games played, one of the most active players of the evening. Consistency is starting to show.

Joshua - Most games played overall with 10 games already under the belt. A very active night and gaining valuable experience with every round.

Peet - Picked up important wins and showed determination throughout the evening. The type of player that keeps grinding and improving.

Maria - 100% win rate… technically undefeated royalty right now. We see you. 👀

Kekeo - Still early days. Every strong chess player has gone through rough starts. The important thing is staying in the fight and gaining experience.

ADULT & 1500+ PLAYERS… WE HAVEN’T FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU.

Krugersdorp Chess Club is excited to officially launch our new Wednesday Advanced Training Nights — a dedicated evening created specifically for adult players and ambitious competitors rated 1500+.

As the club continues to grow across all age groups and playing strengths, we want to ensure that every player has access to the type of environment that best supports their development and enjoyment of the game.

Our Saturday sessions will continue to remain open to all players and will still play a major role in mentoring, development, social chess, and youth growth within the club. At the same time, many of our adult and higher-rated players have expressed interest in more advanced training opportunities and stronger competitive preparation.

So… we built one.

WHAT TO EXPECT

4. Tactical and positional improvement
5. Competitive practice against stronger opposition
6. A focused environment for ambitious players

And this is only the beginning...

As the club structure develops further, we also aim to introduce separate internal leagues and divisions tailored to different playing strengths and development levels — helping every player grow at the right pace while keeping competition enjoyable and meaningful.

A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL KCC PLAYERS!

The "West Rand goes to Monnas" on Saturday, 2 May 2026 was not just another tournament… it was a battlefield of focus, courage, and serious chess energy. Every player who showed up and played. You’ve already won by stepping into the chess arena.

Standout performances:

U10 – Caleb Ackermann - 3rd Place | 4 Points | Performance: 1473
Caleb came in strong and delivered. Winning 4 out of 5 and taking down multiple opponents with confidence, that’s top-tier consistency. Only slipping against a higher finisher shows you were right in the fight till the end. Big future energy here...

U12 – Grant Ninham - 4th Place | 4 Points | Performance: 1639
Now this is how you make noise. Grant absolutely turned up with clean wins, strong play, and only stopped by the top seed. That performance rating says everything: you didn’t just play… you outperformed expectations.

Rooks Section – Ethen Marx - 3 Points | Performance: 1393
A gritty tournament. Win–loss–win–loss–win, that’s fighting spirit. You kept coming back, and that resilience is what builds dangerous players.

U12 – Wian Britz - 2.5 Points | Performance: 1340
Solid start, fought hard through tough pairings, and finished strong with a win. That bounce-back mindset, That’s gold right there!!

Open Section – Robert Disemelo - 2 Points | Performance: 1358
Robert faced strong opposition and still secured wins. That experience against higher-rated players is priceless and that’s where real growth happens.

Open Section – Mdumiseni Jeme - 1 Point | Performance: 1261
With a tough field you kept pushing and got on the scoreboard. That persistence matters more than people think!!

Open Section – Jeremiah Naicker (New Player!) - 1 Point (Welcome to the battlefield!)
Jumping into your first event is never easy, but you showed up and gained experience. This is just the beginning for you!

To every KCC player, ratings don’t tell the full story, your courage does, effort does, showing up does!! You will always face pressure and you'll make decisions and learn lessons…but you will level up.
