houses & the first Slater Gym opened it’s doors in Vereeniging... that was almost 40 years ago. Since then we have grown as a family and as a business. We’ve been a part of just about every change that has happened in the health club industry, from the heavy body building in the 70’s to the early 80’s, through the Aerobics crazes of the late 80’s to the appearance and dominance of the Cardio Training era of the 1990’s. We saw the introduction of the Spinning class and the birth of the circuit area. We learnt to survive when massive competitors entered our markets, and started to thrive as we found our core markets. We’ve seen one government go and a new one take its place, we’ve witnessed the birth of a new millennium and been a proud part of the new South Africa. We have always survived and our doors have always been open to the public. We are fiercely proud of being a home grown South African company and proud of the facilities, products and services we provide.
