Good morning from a beautiful Knysna!!
Mandy made contact and said she had some friends down from JHB that were keen to go and try out our awesome coastline. They arrived at the launch site at KADA promptly at 5.00 am.
Th forecast was good and after our safety talk, we headed to sea. It was a special day for me as it was my 200th launch through the head's.
Going through the head's was an absolute pleasure with just a little bounce or two the last 70 meters.
The water colour was good and the sea temperature was 19 degrees so I started trawling some rapalas and it was not long when we had our first run. John's wife had the honours of fighting the first Bonita, however, it came off just before the boat. We did get to see it and it was a nice one of around 600 mm.

We continued and midway to buffels, we hit another one. This too was a beauty, but, the taxman got that one, and, it too was a decent speciman!
I then got a call from my mate Phillip who said they had found some Kob, so, the charters wanted to go try for job, and off we went towards black rock. We drifted over some marks and sure enough, we managed to pull a few nice sized specimens!
It was not long then the wind, which was not predicted, picked up and after a handful of some undersized dageraad, kob and Red Romans, we headed back to shore.
Despite the barometer falling by 7 points, we did ok and the group of friends had a great day.
It was as topped off with some awesome 200 gram sirloins perfectly prepared at the KADA CLUB kitchen. I'm sure we will see John and friends again!!

Good afternoon to all our followers and like minded fishermen and woman. High season is approaching and currently the fishing has been nice and productive. The Bonita have arrived as well as the yellow tail if weather and sea conditions co operate.
The news for the new season is, thanks to Joel, Andrew and Dudley, we have a 25 foot magnum now, which, for the ladies, is ideal as it has a flushing toilet facility. The cabin is also nice to contribute to a drier trip home in the afternoon when the wind picks up.

We have had a lot of enquiries for the holidays, so, make sure you book your day in advance!

Good day fellow fisherman.
Brent and his buddies asked me to take them fishing on Friday the 7th.

Because of the tides, we only left at 7.00 am. The Knysna heads can be a challenge and close to low tide, the best time was a slightly later launch but, they had a full day planned.

Brent and his buddies, all farmers and a accountant, from the Delarayville area, decided to try their hand at some deep sea fishing in the Knysna area.
The weather and sea conditions predicted 2.2 Meter swells, a easterly wind at 6 knots and wave intervals at about 13 seconds. For all intents and purposes, a good day.

They all arrived on time and we headed out. 100 Meters through the heads, the easterly was pumping at about 12 knots, the swells were running at about 8 seconds, but, they were about 2.3 meters high.

I asked them if they were available the next day as the conditions were not as expected as set out on the weather app.

They said no, they had to leave, so I told them the ride would be bumpy and I was not sure iff we would be successful.....

My charters have a guarantee that if no fish, of legal size, is caught, then the charters do not have to pay for the days charter....

The water was warm though, 22.3 degrees, and I said if they did not mind the bumpy ride we would proceed.

In the mean time, the swells grew to about 2.5 meters....
I dropped two rattler lures over and started trawling....
The next two hours were interesting. The swells were huge, but, so we're the Bonita Tuna.

The conditions continued to worsen, and after about two hours, I called it a day.
We headed for home, the heads were interesting coming in, but, we got in safe and sound.

The guys got 12 nice big Bonita and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

It was an awesome day and we made 4 new friends.......
They all had plenty fresh fish to take home to their farms.....

Hi to all our fishing friends from all around the world. The Christmas season is almost over but it's left us with wonderful memories of new friends who wanted to experience the wonderful coastline that we have here in Knysna.
The ocean was kind to us this year allowing is the opportunity and show our coastline to visitors, and, at the same time meet lots of new friends from all over the world.
We are truly privileged to live in our little paradise here in Knysna.

We love showing newcomers to this area who all seem amazed at our awesome coastline and vistas, not to mention the good fishing.
I'm posting a few photos to reflect on the past, extremely enjoyable Christmas period.

Happy Easter to all our fellow like minded anglers.

Some old clients decided to spend their day with us. We left for the deep at 6 am and after getting through the heads, with water at only 13.5 degrees, I headed straight to the deep.

After about an hour, in 101 metres, we dropped our lines and immediately, we got into some fish.

Barend, Karien and Karen started having fun and on top of the most stunning sunrise.
It's days like these that makes one greatful for these special occassions!
