Some hunts are about more than the trophy - they're about honouring a legacy.

This year, we had the privilege of welcoming back our returning client and friend, Chris, to Mayogi Safari. He returned to South Africa with a group of close friends to share in a moment that meant more than words could ever describe.

Chris came in pursuit of a Cape Buffalo, not only for himself, but to honour his father. Hunting a buffalo was something his dad had always dreamed of doing but, sadly, never had the opportunity to experience. This hunt was Chris's way of carrying that dream forward.

The journey was anything but easy. This old buffalo bull tested the team every step of the way, demanding patience, determination, and perseverance. After a hard-earned hunt, Chris finally stood beside a truly deserving old warrior - a moment filled with pride, respect, and emotion.

Congratulations, Chris! Thank you for trusting Mayogi Safari once again to be part of such a meaningful chapter. It was an honour to share this unforgettable experience with you and your friends.

While we cherish the thrill of the hunt, we never lose our appreciation for the new life that graces the African bush. Every calf, foal, and fawn is a reminder of the natural cycle that keeps our wildlife thriving for generations to come.

It's moments like these , watching young animals take their first steps alongside their mothers , that make us pause and admire the beauty of the wild we are privileged to call home.

During his stay at Mayogi Safaris, Bjarne managed to take down an exceptionally big Warthog , a true old warrior of the veld. With impressive tusks and loads of character, this trophy is a testament to patience, skill, and the thrill of authentic African hunting.

Moments like these are what hunting dreams are made of… heart-pounding stalks and the reward of harvesting a magnificent animal in its natural habitat.
