The Klipspringer is a species that is very dear to me as a professional hunter. It has always been one of my absolute favourite animals to hunt, and it’s easy to see why it ranks so highly on many hunters’ wish lists.

As one of Africa’s Tiny Ten, the Klipspringer is an incredibly delicate antelope with a fragile hide that is prone to hair slip, making precise shot placement essential.

Martin had dreamed of hunting a Klipspringer from the very beginning of planning his safari. When the opportunity finally presented itself, he made the most of it, placing a perfect shot with his .223 that anchored the ram without damaging this beautiful trophy.

We left the Eastern Cape high country and continued Martin’s safari from our main lodge. With a Blue Wildebeest high on his list, it wasn’t long before we found a mature bull with outstanding width and exceptional bosses. Congratulations, Martin, on a fantastic trophy!

Part of Martin’s safari was dedicated to hunting the ever-wary Vaal Rhebuck. We spotted multiple rams, but getting within shooting range proved to be a challenge. Their sharp eyesight and cautious nature kept us working hard, but persistence paid off. On the second day, everything came together, and Martin made the opportunity count.

Martin and Pat’s adventure with us finally began after more than a year’s worth of planning.

These two hunting buddies are no strangers to the Dark Continent, having hunted Africa at least five times before. This safari, however, marked their very first hunt with us.

A warm welcome to both of you, and congratulations to Martin on taking a beautiful old Mountain Reedbuck ram. We look forward to many more memorable days together in the Eastern Cape.
