As we enjoy the clay court season on the ATP and WTA tour, let’s wear something blue, white or red as we celebrate the birth place of clay court tennis - France 🇫🇷

You enter as an individual for the Round Robin and we allocate partners for the day. Same format as always - 8 games: 4 with your partner and 4 against your partner.

Our club hosted 10 Vintners during the Kenton Wine Festival on our grounds from 21 to 23 March. The Vintners and Estates represented were Simonsig, Allesverloren, McFarlane Wines, Stellakaya, Uva Mira, Peter Falke, Chamonix, Domaine des Dieux, Highlands Road and Montpellier. Apart from the Wine tastings, a Kaapse Vonkel Simonsig Master Class was presented at the club on Friday morning. This included a sabrage demonstration.
In addition an exhibition of local artists was held on the verandah of the clubhouse on all three days. Kerrygold Cheese and Butter had a promotional stall for the duration of the festival as well.
On Saturday an arts and crafts market provided an interesting shopping experience for the wine tasters.
Refreshments were provided by dillyDeli and Mark Taverner Oysters. The oysters proved to be very popular with the wine tasters. Des Alcock provided live music on Friday and Saturday, adding to the wonderfully festive atmosphere.

PLEASE NOTE: no tennis to be played on wet or damp courts

Kenton Tennis Club once again hosted a hugely successful Kenton Vets tournament on 15 and 16 September. In spite of the howling storm winds (which saw the demise of Kenton's iconic landmark, Carriage Rock), tennis of a very high standard was produced. The newly resurfaced courts 1,2,3,6 and 7 were in use for the first time and apart from looking great, provided much improved court surfaces for the players. The eventual winners by a narrow margin of one tie-breaker set was Mine Norval's team. Kudos to Tiaan Joubert and his team for a well-organised and smoothly run tournament. Once again the catering and bar service was top-notch and appreciated by all.
