Good day out with a few hiccups and some damages on the car but we got the result

Very bitter sweet day as a fellow competitor in my class had endless issues that just could not be resolved. This was my highlight of the weekend as I was looking forward to sharing a track with him.

We will repair, improve and send it again.

Zwartkops Raceway 28th March

Heat 1 we had fuel pump relay failure due being on the restart grid for a long period of time waiting for the restart. Not a happy outcome due to unforeseen things on the grid. Unfortunately had to pull off before the restart and could not finish heat 1

Heat 2 I got the car sorted and started on position 21 at the back of the pack.
Ended up finishing first in class and 8th on grid overall for the heat.

Result - 3rd place for the day.

Hair raising moment caught on dash cam by a fellow racer that was on my tail.
One of the competitors ahead of us had engine failure causing an oil spill just before turn 8.
We are all very lucky that none of us
encountered any impact. 🙆🏼‍♂️
