It is with great pleasure that we welcome Adam Boshoff Sensei and Cindy-Lee Whiteman Sensei to the JKS Federation of South Africa.

We are delighted to have JKS Kempton Park Dojo, under the leadership of Adam Boshoff Sensei, and JKS Nakama Karate dojo, led by Cindy-Lee Whiteman Sensei in the Randburg area, join the JKS SA family.

We look forward to a long and successful journey together as we continue to grow traditional Shotokan karate, support one another, and uphold the values and standards of JKS Japan and South Africa.

A New Chapter Begins

After 36 years of continuous training in Tenshinkan Karate, including serving as a junior instructor from the age of 16 and teaching for more than 26 years, the time has come for me to begin a new chapter in my karate journey.

This has not been a decision made lightly. Tenshinkan has played a significant role in shaping me—not only as a karateka, but as an instructor and as a person. I will always be grateful for the knowledge, opportunities, friendships, and experiences I have gained throughout the years.

My sincere thanks go to Kancho Mamoru Miwa, the late Hanshi Hans Haupt, and everyone who has supported, guided, believed in, and trained alongside me over the years. Each of you has contributed to the person I am today, and for that I will always be thankful.

I am incredibly excited to announce that I will now continue my karate journey with the JKS Shoto Federation. I believe that growth requires us to embrace new challenges, continue learning, and remain students of the art, regardless of rank or experience.

This decision is not about looking back with negativity. There is no animosity, no controversy, and no need for speculation. It is simply the right step for me, my students, and the future I envision.

Every worthwhile journey begins with the courage to take the first step. I have complete faith that this new path will bring new opportunities, continued growth, and an even deeper understanding of karate.

As one chapter closes, another begins.

Remember the past. Embrace the present. Build the future.
