Dear L-Tech Marine Family member

It has been an exciting few years for me in Gauteng servicing the boating industry but I have reached a point to make a very big business decision.
I’m sure by now you know about my other company called PortaMist (a company offering outdoor mist-cooling systems)
This company has grown since 2016 to where we now offer distribution options for agents across SA and neighboring countries. I have never expected this to be the result when I started this simple idea of fitting a pump into a suitcase.

Due to these exciting times this leaves me no choice but to back off from the Boats, Bikes and Jetski service known as L-tech Marine.
I have been looking for an alternative solutions to be able to still assist my current client base but I was unable to get a trustworthy solution.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one that supported me during my L-Tech Marine.

Even though I am not available to offer a service anymore, I will always be available for advice or to supply you with parts and accessories.

Thank you for understanding and I am sure we will cross paths in the near future.

MAN O MAN, did this jetski test my skills.

Client stated ski does not have power. Hanging at 5000RPM at wide open throttle. After 1st round inspection I found that the power valves were not opening. After stripping I could clearly see why.
I also found that the 2 stroke pump setting was at 70% open at idle meaning it was dumping 2stroke into the engine like crazy. We also decided to strip and clean the carbs while we at it.

With carbs and powers valves and 2 stroke pump set correctly ski was DOING EXACTLY THE SAME, hanging at 5000rpm. After 2nd inspection I found a exhaust modification that was done previously that restricted exhaust flow badly. I managed to do some changes to fix the issue. After water test ski DID EXACTLY THE SAME, hanging at 5000rpm.

I managed to lend a set of carbs, power valve control module and a impeller from one of my clients to swop these parts over to see if i can find the problem. After swopping carbs, guess what?? No difference. After swopping Module, guess what, No difference. After swopping Impeller, Guess what, PROBLEM SOLVED.

Even though ski only had 70hrs on the clock, someone previously replaced the impeller with a GP1200 impeller. The GP800R genuine impeller is discontinued so we replaced the impeller with a after market one and the ski is running beautifully. Strong acceleration and 7500rpm at 89km/h.

This 200hp Mercury is super strong but performed like a 90hp due to some issues.

I found timing settings to be way out, bent fuel hose restricting fuel flow, 2 stroke pump link arm attached incorrect causing pump to work wrong way around, worn impeller, carbs only opening 70%, 2 stroke warning horn active and damaged propeller hub.

All the above mentioned are things I inspect, repair and set anyway when doing a Major service. My clients normally can not believe the power increase after I'm done.

Im a stong believer of the saying "Do something properly or rather leave it"

Was nice to see how proud my client is on he's boat by wiping it after the water test.

Driving 2 hours to site to service or repair your boat or jetski is no problem.

Situated on the far end of the Vaal dam these 3 toys needed serious attention.

The 115hp Mariner acquired a major service including impeller, fuel filters, fuel pipe, cleaning of carbs, adjusting timing and more.

The Yellow jetski starts but would not rev up.
Major sevice and carb kits to be done soon.

The maroon jetski filled up with water due to a water leak and eversince would not start.
Diagnosed, replaced some electrical components and got ski running again.
Major service, carb kits, mechanical seals and impeller lining to be done soon
