🌿 Grass Arena Fun at Ascot! 🐴

Gu & Tybalt and Annette & Salvador challenged themselves in the grass Derby arena at Ascot on 12 September.

This time of year always brings a special buzz, with the South African Derby coming up in the first week of October, and it was great to get out onto the grass and enjoy something a little different.

Both horses and riders had the best time! Annette thoroughly enjoyed her round with Salvador, while Gu & Tybalt bagged a fantastic 2nd place! 🥈⭐️

The arena was superb, with some fascinating fillers — including a bridge and even a bench! With their cross-country feel, the horses either had a good spooky look… or locked on and thought, “We know what to do with that!” 😂

A really fun day all round — well done, guys! 💚🐴

🧡 Lauren O & our favourite Orange Dressage Duo at SA Champs! 🧡

Lauren and her gorgeous orange partner competed at SA Champs at KPC last week — a huge and prestigious event, bringing riders from all over South Africa together to compete.

Dressage at this level takes a tremendous amount of preparation from both horse and rider, with riders only able to compete in one dressage class per day.

And what a fantastic result for this duo! ⭐️

🏅 6th in the Medium Consolation
✨ 68.9% in the Medium Freestyle

A massive well done, Lauren — RRC is incredibly proud of you both! 🧡

Now for a well-earned short break before preparations begin for the next big one… The South African Derby, where the duo will be competing in both Dressage and Showing classes.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Winter Show such a special day. From our wonderful riders, families, instructors, grooms and volunteers to the amazing moms who helped score and time the classes—we couldn't have done it without you!

A special thank you to Western Shoppe for the salt licks and winner vouchers, Rawsons Property Group (Kerry Mawson) for the Rawsons Relay winner vouchers and treat bars for every rider, Leone Amon from Under the Fence for her delicious farm goodies, Mr Vinyl for the sponsored prizes, Bret Dugmore for keeping the day alive with his fantastic commentary and sound, and the Paulshof Rates & Residents Association (PRRA) for joining us and supporting our event.

Congratulations to every rider—you all rode with confidence, determination and great sportsmanship. We are so proud of you all and can't wait for the next one!

Congratulations to our Rivonia Riding Club riders!

What an incredible SANESA Regional Qualifier! The Regional classes were exceptionally large and highly competitive, making every placing—and every completed round—an achievement to be proud of.

Izzy & Sky
• In-Hand – 3rd

Giuliana & Tybalt
• Equitation 70cm Horse – 3rd
• Show Riding Level 3 – 4th
• Working Hunter 70cm – 11th

Zi-Yan & HHCU Lloyds Legacy
• A solid performance in a very competitive Working Hunter class.

Sarah & Kai
• 80cm Show Jumping – 13th out of 42 riders.

Lilli & Don
• A2 – 1st
• Also produced lovely rounds in the Competition Class and Working Riding… despite Don deciding a few bucks would make things a little more exciting! 😄

Kenzie & Lips
• A good result in a very competitive Working Riding class.

Becs & Gold
• Working Hunter 70cm – 10th (in the same highly competitive class as Giuliana & Tybalt)
• A good performance in Equitation.

Every horse-and-rider combination represented Rivonia Riding Club with determination, sportsmanship and a willingness to learn. Whether you came home with a ribbon or simply gained valuable experience, we're incredibly proud of every one of you.

Now comes the exciting wait as the SANESA points are finalised. We have everything crossed and look forward to seeing which of our riders have qualified for the SANESA National Championships in September. Best of luck to you all—we'll be cheering you on every step of the way!

Another fantastic show hosted by Burlington! 🌟 Their shows are always so well run, and even their recreational shows provide such a welcoming and professional experience for riders and horses alike.

A huge congratulations to Annette and TI Salvador, who produced a beautiful first round before stepping up to tackle their very first 90cm class. What a fantastic achievement and a milestone to be proud of. Well done, team! 👏🐴

It was also wonderful to see Nicci and HHCU Lloyds Legacy back in the show ring for the first time this year. After an on-and-off season, it was great to have them back in action. And it was very clear that "Nero", Lloyds Legacy's nickname, was more than ready to be back doing what he loves! We can't wait to watch this partnership continue to grow throughout the season. 💙🧡

Well done to both combinations—we're incredibly proud of you all!

🏆 Wonderful Show Results – Catching Up! 🧡🐴

We've fallen a little behind on sharing some of our recent results, and what a way to start!

Our Orange Duo, Lauren and Rivervales Bacardi, were on top form once again, taking the win in their Handy Hunter class before going on to be crowned the 2026 SASA Gauteng Working Riding Champions! 🥇🏆 What an incredible achievement for this talented partnership—we couldn't be prouder.

At the Mid-Year Graded Show held at Kyalami Equestrian Park, Annette, Giuliana and Rebecca represented Rivonia Riding Club with confidence and determination. Graded shows can be nerve-racking, but all three riders rode beautifully, gained valuable experience, and finished the day with big smiles.

A special mention goes to Giuliana and her young Thoroughbred, Tybalt, who produced a fantastic performance to finish 5th and 7th in their classes. Considering these classes combine both junior and adult riders, this is an outstanding result and a great indication of what the future holds for this exciting partnership.

Well done to all our riders—we're incredibly proud of your hard work, sportsmanship and dedication. Here's to many more successful shows! 🧡🐎👏
