Sport and Recreation: Region B hosted the Multi-Sport event on Saturday, 05 September at the Danie van Zyl Recreation Centre.
The event featured the Gauteng amateur Boxing Championships, National South African Korean Martial Arts Championship and later there was an Anti-Doping Seminar
The seminar was mainly to ensure that athletes compete, fairly and safely while maintaing the intergrity of the sport.

Update regarding the public swimming pool season. 🏊‍♂️

The official opening has been postponed from 1 September to 1 October 2026. This extension allows us to ensure that all municipal facilities meet rigorous health, safety, and operational standards for our communities.

Here is what you need to know:

🔸A phased reopening starts with 36 pools in October.
🔸We are considering extending the season to April 2027, weather permitting.

Thank you for your understanding as we prioritise a safe environment for everyone.
