The First Half of 2026 Is Gone… What Happens Next Is Up to You

Half of 2026 is gone.

Today is 1 July.

That means you have a choice.

You can keep doing what you've been doing and hope the next six months are different…

Or you can pause, review, refocus, and reset.

If I were reviewing a business today, I'd start with just three Business Vitals:

✅ Lead Generation – Which marketing strategies actually brought in quality leads? Double down on what worked and stop wasting time on what didn't.

✅ Conversion Rate – How many of those leads became paying clients? Small improvements to your sales process can create significant increases in revenue.

✅ Average Customer Spend – How can you increase the value of every client through additional services, premium offers, memberships, or strategic upsells?

Last week, I spent 90 minutes with a client reviewing what they already had in place. Together, we uncovered an opportunity they had overlooked that is projected to generate more than R1.2 million in additional revenue over the next 12 months.

The opportunity wasn't new.

It had simply been forgotten.

Sometimes you don't need more marketing.

You need a better strategy and someone to help you see what you're too close to recognise.

The second half of 2026 starts today.

One question changed the direction of a R30 million business.

People often ask me why successful CEOs still work with a business coach.

The answer is simple.
It's not because they need someone to tell them what to do.

They need someone who challenges their thinking, holds them accountable, and helps them see opportunities they've overlooked.

One CEO I worked with was leading a business doing R1,1 billion in annual revenue. After 11 months of strategic coaching and accountability, the business had grown to R2.2 billion.

Another client was generating around R30 million a year. During a quarterly strategy session, I asked one question that helped them identify the ideal industry they should focus on.

That shift led to winning a R265 million client over a five-year contract.

Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in your business isn't a new marketing strategy.

It's a better question.
Who is challenging your thinking?
Who is holding you accountable?
Who is helping you build a business that grows with intention instead of by chance?

What is the most valuable lesson your father taught you?

As we celebrate Father's Day, I've been reflecting on the lessons my dad passed on to me that still influence how I live, lead, and do business today.

Two stand out above all others:

1. Respect everyone and everything around you. Leave it better than you found it.

Whether it's a relationship, a business, a conversation, or an opportunity, I've always believed that our job is to leave people and situations better than we found them.

Respect creates trust.

Trust creates opportunities.

And opportunities create growth.

2. Integrity – Always do what you say you're going to do.

This has become one of the most important values in my business.

If you say you'll call someone back, call them back.

If you promise to send information, send it.

If you tell someone you'll let them know, let them know.

The strongest businesses I've worked with aren't built on clever marketing or fancy sales techniques.

They're built on trust.

And trust is built through consistent integrity.

I've also noticed something interesting over the years:

The values you live by tend to attract the clients you work with.

Many of my best clients share the same commitment to integrity, accountability, and keeping their word.

As business owners, leaders, and parents, the lessons we live today become the legacy we leave tomorrow.
