WE ARE HIRING – SENIOR BOOKKEEPER

JEM Catering is looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join their Head Office and Production Facility.
This is a senior, hands-on finance position reporting directly to the Managing Director and supporting the financial operations of three group companies.

📍 Glenesk, Johannesburg South�
🏢 100% On-Site – No Remote/Hybrid Option�
💰 Up to R40,000 per month, depending on experience, qualifications & suitability�
📅 Full-Time | Permanent

YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:

✔️ Weekly & monthly financial reporting and management accounts�✔️ P&L preparation and financial analysis�✔️ Cost and expenditure monitoring�✔️ Identifying variances, trends and financial risks�✔️ Debtors & creditors management�✔️ Bank, debtor & creditor reconciliations�✔️ Monthly payroll processing�✔️ Financial controls and administration�✔️ Oversight of the Finance & Admin Clerk�✔️ Working with management, operations and procurement�✔️ Liaising with the external accounting team�✔️ Supporting audits, reviews and statutory requirements�✔️ Improving financial processes and controls

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH:

🔹 Relevant bookkeeping/accounting/finance qualification�🔹 5–7 years' senior bookkeeping or finance experience�🔹 Strong P&L and management reporting experience�🔹 Payroll experience – essential�🔹 Strong Excel and accounting software skills�🔹 Debtors, creditors and reconciliation experience�🔹 Experience supervising finance/admin staff�🔹 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills�🔹 Excellent attention to detail�🔹 A commercial and proactive approach�🔹 High integrity and confidentiality�🔹 Hospitality, catering, FMCG or high-volume environment experience would be advantageous�🔹 Contactable references

🕗 Monday – Friday: 08:00 – 17:00�
🕗 2 Saturdays per month: 08:00 – 14:00
