**DREAM AND DATE SET**
After seeing Landie “Mandown” Ngxeke, 16-1 with 8 KOs, hard at work at the Hot Box Gym, posting several images, clips, and training footage, South African fight fans were wondering when his date with destiny would take place. After defecting from East London to sign with manager Colin Nathan, director of NO DOUBT Management, it was announced that he received the letter of order from the IBF to contest for the vacant World Bantamweight championship against Mexico’s Jose Salas Reyes, 16-0 with 10 KOs, after Junto Nakatani vacated the title to move up to the 122 lb division. Right off the bat, Ngxeke accepted the order, and now the date has been signed and sealed.
“Yeah, we have known about the date for a while; that’s why we have been hard at work preparing. There was a bit of back and forth with the agreement, but now I have a deal for Landie, and he is extremely happy with the terms. I also want to thank Larry Wainstein of Boxing 5 for all his support,” said Nathan.
December 13th in Mexico City has been confirmed, although BXSTRS has stated that the venue could shift to another province in Mexico, but the date is confirmed, said CEO Juan Carlos Torres of BXSTRS. Ngxeke couldn’t hide his excitement: “I woke up this morning and saw the post, and I was like, 'Yeah, it’s happening.' On the 13th, the IBF world title belt must be wrapped around my waist; I’m ready.”
This is another exciting moment for South Africa, as we have seen several legitimate world title fights this year featuring South African boxers, and we could see Ngxeke being crowned champion of the world on the 13th of December.
Mexico is a happy hunting ground for Nathan, as he has scored major upset wins with Hekkie Budler and Sivenathi Nontshinga and is looking to extend his unbeaten winning streak.
“Mandown” is ready to announce himself to the world.
