History isn’t just witnessed, it is built by people willing to lead, serve, and believe in what is possible.
It was an incredible privilege to be part of a truly historic moment for South African rugby with the naming of the first-ever SA Schools Girls and SA Schools ‘A’ Girls teams.
To serve as a Mentor Coach within this program was an honour. My role extended beyond the rugby field, to mentor, guide, and support the players and coaching staff within my allocated team, helping create an environment where these young athletes could grow both as rugby players and as people.
This milestone represents far more than the announcement of two teams. It is a testament to the continued growth of the women’s game in South Africa and a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when people invest in creating opportunities for the next generation.
A sincere thank you to SA Rugby, the management team, fellow coaches, support staff, and everyone who contributed to making this landmark initiative a reality. Most importantly, congratulations to the young women who have earned the honour of wearing the green and gold. You are pioneers, and your legacy will inspire many who follow.
I’m grateful to have played a small part in a chapter that will be remembered in South African rugby history.
