Africa looks ahead to CAVB Comprehensive 2026 Beach Volleyball Competition Calendar
Rabat Morocco, June 22, 2026 - The African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) 2026 Beach Volleyball Competition Calendar, outlining a packed schedule of zonal qualifiers, youth development events, continental championships, and the Youth Olympic Games. The calendar demonstrates CAVB’s continued commitment to expanding the sport across Africa and providing competitive opportunities for athletes at all levels.
The 2026 season will began with Zone 6 Qualifiers for the CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Senior Championships that took place in Maputo, Mozambique, from 29 April to 3 May 2026. That was followed by Zone 5 Qualifiers in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, held from 20 to 26 May.
West Africa will take center stage in June and July, with Guinea-Bissau hosting the Zone 2 Qualifiers early June, while Tunisia staged the Zone 1 Qualifiers in Kelibia on 11 to 15 June. The Zone 4 Qualifiers will be held in Bangui, Central African Republic, from 26 to 29 June.
The competition calendar continues into July with the Zone 7 Qualifiers in Seychelles from 1 to 2 July and the Zone 3 Qualifiers in Badagry, Nigeria, from 2 to 5 July.
One of the key highlights of the year will be the 2nd African Youth Beach Volleyball Development Cup, scheduled for 8 to 15 August 2026 in Dakar, Senegal. The tournament is expected to provide a vital platform for emerging young talents to gain international experience and contribute to the future growth of the sport across the continent.
The 2026 CAVB Beach Volleyball Continental Senior Championships for both men and women will also take place during the year, with the host nation and dates to be announced by CAVB at a later stage.
The season will culminate with the 2026 Dakar Youth Olympic Games, set to run from 31 October to 13 November 2026 in Senegal. As the first Youth Olympic Games to be held on African soil, the event represents a historic milestone for the continent and offers African beach volleyball athletes a unique opportunity to compete on a global stage.
Through this extensive competition calendar, CAVB aims to strengthen regional competition, enhance athlete development pathways, and raise the overall standard of beach volleyball throughout Africa. The 2026 season promises to be one of the most exciting and significant years in the history of African beach volleyball.
