J-Bay locals — this one’s for you! 🌊

With no WSL event happening this year, J-Bay Boardriders is putting on a contest for the people who call Jeffreys Bay home.

Some local surfers have already received invites in recognition of the time they’ve put in at Supertubes — but the contest is also open to the wider J-Bay community.

To enter, you’ll need to be a Jeffreys Bay resident — make sure your address reflects postal code 6330. You may also be asked to upload proof of address with your family member’s name.

The entry link goes live on Monday, so keep an eye on the J-Bay Boardriders socials.

The waiting period runs from 18 July to 18 August, with the contest set to happen when conditions and logistics align for an epic day at Supertubes.

A day to celebrate this incredible wave, the people who surf it, and the J-Bay community. 🤙

What an incredible day with our JBay community! 🌊♻️

After the big rains and storm we recently experienced, our beaches were left carrying so much washed-up rubbish and debris — which made this community clean-up even more important. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who showed up, rolled up their sleeves, and helped make such a positive impact.

From families and friends to groms and locals, it was amazing to see so many people coming together for the place we all love most — our beautiful coastline. Together we collected bags and bags of rubbish, helping protect our beaches, ocean, and wildlife for future generations.

Along the way we also discovered some pretty interesting things hidden amongst the clean-up — including a puffadder, a dolphin spine, beautiful shells, and even a huge tree stump washed down by the storm! 🐚🐬🐍🌳

More than just cleaning the beach, days like this remind us what JBay is all about: community, connection, caring for nature, and sharing good times with good people. We made new friends, shared laughs, and left the beach a little better than we found it.

Thank you to every single person who came out to support. Your effort, energy, and love for our town is what keeps this community so special. 💙
