Jeffreys Bay Striders fb

I have been asked by the Jeffreys Bay Athletics Club's Management to manage the Club's facebook.

It is confusing to have a fb page with a name that is not the same / similar to that of the Club.
I first of all tried to change the Striders' fb page name to Jeffreys Bay Athletics Club. No success
The Club's fb name has already being changed once .
Speaking to Dewald, it was a huge schlep.
Reading up on the Internet, fb is very reluctant to do it - as Dewald experienced first hand.

One of the problems is that there is a fb group called Jeffrey's Bay Athletics Club.
In order for the Club to use that fb name, the existing group with that name have to change.
Lindi Meyer was for many years the driving force under the previously named JBAC and is the moderator of the fb group with that name.

The one possibility to explore is to use the existing JBAC fb page.
To explore this possibility, I requested Lindi that I become an administrator of the JBAC fb group - she graciously granted my request.

I am going to explore in-depth the possibility to use the existing JBAC's fb group in order to make an informed recommendation the the Club's management.
Those of you that are still members of the JBAC fb group, will probably receive notifications from it as I try out various things.

Should Management approve the decision, I will attempt to merge the two fb's and if that is not successful, link the highlights of posts in the Striders fb to the JBAC fb
In that way, we will have a very long fb history for our Club
I would appreciate your feedback and insights.
