If you work on or in the ocean, you know that maintenance is never really done.

Our gangway was due for some much-needed TLC, and the team stepped up once again. From grinding and welding to reattaching it to the harbour wall, it was all hands on deck to get the job done.
Here's to teamwork, big smiles, and the dedication that keeps us operating safely and smoothly day after day. A huge well done to the team for another job well done!

One of our all-time favourites has to be Rietfontein.

With towering kelp forests swaying in the surge, fascinating marine life around every turn, and its location tucked away in a sheltered bay, every dive feels different from the last. From playful seals and curious fish to the magical light filtering through the kelp canopy, Rietfontein never fails to deliver a memorable underwater adventure.

No two dives are ever the same and that's exactly why we keep going back.

From the 1st of July to the 30th of November, the Whale Sanctuary along the Hermanus coastline comes into effect to give the Southern Right Whales the space they need to wean and care for their calves in peace.

During this time, we change our sailing route and head away from the sanctuary area around the Old Harbour and Grotto Beach, giving the whales the quiet space they deserve with their young.

Instead, we get to show off another beautiful side of Hermanus as we sail down towards Onrus, with its long open coastline, peaceful atmosphere, and stunning mountain views from the water.

It’s a different route, but one that reminds you just how lucky we are to call this coastline home.

It’s a reminder that sharing the ocean also means respecting it, protecting it, and giving nature the space it deserves.

African winters, good company, and sailing the Hermanus coastline… there’s really nothing quite like it.
